I’m so torn.
I also have no idea how to stop.

16 month old, and 2 months pregnant. Still breastfeeding- trying to cut down but it is SO hard. He cries and screams for the boob.

looking for some gentle approaches.

I also need sleep and he wakes 2-3 times a night for a comfort feed (if I don’t give it he will cry himself awake for AGES!)

Do you want to stop now ? You don’t have to unless that’s what you want.

@C0NNIE i want to gently stop over the next couple of months.
Im so so torn though, I know it’s good for him but it’s draining me at the moment!

Highly likely will naturally stop as your milk changes during pregnancy ready for new baby
dd stopped when I was about 5 months pg

When he wakes in the night, can you send your other half in with some water instead of you going?

Have a listen to the "Makes Milk" podcast by Emma Pickett. She's a lactation consultant who specialises in this.
You can also ring the national breastfeeding helpline for advice, I rang them once and the lady I spoke to was lovely.

I was just coming to echo the Emma Pickett recommendation, she's fab. I'm also trying to stop bf my toddler as I'm pregnant and I think I've had enough 🫠 it's hard though. It can help to think about why they want that particular feed as they're not often about food at this age, and how to meet that need in a different way. So for example, it's a lovely easy way to go back to sleep so we worked on different ways we can help him go back to sleep without boob (he was NOT impressed to begin with). Or if they're looking for connection, a song or story might do instead. Good luck!
