perineal massage- what is the optimum position to do it in?

Have been trying but finding it quite hard to get in a good position. Frankly I can barely reach my vag with huge bump in way. Grateful for any tips.

I'm afraid that your DP is probably going to have to help out for best results. I did manage it on my own, just in bed on my back sitting up a bit, but it was suprisingly hard. My DP was too and to be of any use.

It used to sting when I did manage it, which did not comfort me when I realised a baby would be coming out of there very soon. Although it was an em c-section in the end so I never found out.

I agree you need a helping hand. I tried doing it myself - lying down can't reach bc of bump, and sitting up, well, you're sitting on it. My DH is being a very good sport about it - probably because we were told to follow it with lovemaking whenever possible!

i started a thread about this about 10 days ago. i found standing up with a leg on toilet, or squatting on bidet (if you have one!) the best position. hardly comfortable, but then i don't think that is the point...
