Farm visit

Hii,
I took my daughter to the farm today as they had an Easter event on. Planting carrots, feeding lambs etc. anyway, while in the farm
barn, where there were numerous lambs, piglets and cute baby things, I noticed a sign of warning to pregnant women not to feed/touch the lambs. Oh I’m 26 weeks pregnant! Should have mentioned that.

I didn’t touch or get too close to any lambs. I did stand next to some sheep though. My
daughter didn’t touch any lambs either. We left the barn after I saw the sign and we washed our hands.

I then proceeded to google the warning and have read multiple articles about the dangers, basically the reason for the warning.

Should I be worried? I’m a horrendous worrier so I’m hoping you’ll be honest but put my mind at ease.

I have also had our shoes and pram washed in case our soles or wheels picked anything up.

thank you in advance

kind regards,

crazy lady who knew nothing about the dangers of lambs x

It happened to me, too. I was 30 weeks pregnant when we took my nephew to the farm. I only saw the poster on our way out that pregnant women shouldn't touch the animals.
Washed my hand carefully and cleaned everything that my nephew might have touched.

I have a healthy 2 years old now, so it definitely didn't cause any problems.

I still don't understand why they don't have a sigh at the entrance as I didn't even think it could be harmful.

You and your baby will be absolutely fine.

Katherina thank you for your reply.
They absolutely should have a sign on the way in! I thought that too.

it’s so reassuring to know you and your little one are fine. Thank you very much x
