Ovulation info online confusing!

Hi girls, hope you can help. All the information I read on TTC and Ovulation all seem to be different and even though I’m trying to be “chill” it’s been near 8 months and we’re now trying to be a little more tactile with our timing.

Here’s my Flo app… the 5th seems to be ovulation day… with that being correct is having sex tonight “pointless”.

I believe I got my peak on Thursday eve… so not sure if by tonight, Saturday eve, I’d be out anyway.

We will most likely have sex regardless but just feel a bit bummed as doing my calculations, today would’ve been the best time to do the deed and we haven’t.

should’ve had sex this morning but with a toddler…. It wasn’t happening.

Am I in for a good chance to his month?

Anyway, let me know your thoughts.

Xxxxxx

Have you tracked your cycle to find out when you ovulate? As the app may be wrong.

CluelessInLondon · 06/04/2024 16:39

If the ovulation date in the app is correct then you have given yourself a good chance - but if you aren't doing OPKs you might want to try using them to understand if you actually are ovulating when the app thinks.

Have you tried ovulation tests? Flo app was really incorrect for me, it varied but sometimes it was out by 4-5 days.

Ohhh I should’ve definitely mentioned that I am using ovulation sticks and I got a peak Thursday eve - Saturday morning (clearly fading though).

I have been using them, and on the 4th, day before predicted ovulation, I got my positive ovulation test x

Also, just to mention, I have been doing opks morning and night since the 2nd and they confirmed a positive test on the 4th (afternoon)

If you had your positive ovulation test, you’d want to have sex that day, and ideally the day before - but the day after can’t hurt.

Flo tends to be a few days out for me, as well.

Are you using ovulation strips ? You can't solely rely on an app it's just guessing without using ovulation strips . Use strips with the Premom app .

Saxfie2021 · 06/04/2024 17:34

I can’t seem to change my post!
sorry for the confusion 😫

I USED OVULATION PREDICTION KITS.
💕 and my peak came on the 4th x

You ovulate 24-48 hours after your peak, so if you got your peak on Thursday evening then ovulation will have happened later on Friday or perhaps today. And the egg can live for around 24 hours so it is definitely still possible to get pregnant if you DTD the day after you think you ovulated. But based on what you've shared, you have also DTD plenty in the lead-up and the sperm hangs around for a few days, so your chances are as good as any. Good luck!
