Wedding ring allergy?

Quite a random one but I’m 38 weeks pg and seem to have developed an allergic reaction to my rings?

They are both 18ct gold and I’ve worn them several years with no issues whatsoever but my finger is unbearably itchy with a bright red ring.

Is this is a thing? Will it subside? I’ve had to use some hydrocortisone cream as it’s driving me bonkers.

Try painting clear nail varnish round the inside. I think the change in body temperature can affect it.

This happened to me, 9ct white gold, never had issues until end of pregnancy with both children.

First child I took off as my fingers did swell slightly, and once I had given birth and the swelling had subsided, I could wear them again, no issue and the irritation went.

Second child had the red itchiness again, but I didn't take my rings off and sadly suffered pre-eclampsia and had to have my wedding ring cut off due to swelling, however the irritation again went after birth and I've worn my rings ever since with no problems.

I have heard a few people mention it, I've never seen a reason why, but assume hormones may play a part.

Hopefully you will be like me and once little one is here you will be able to wear your rings again.
