I'm 33 weeks +3 all week I've been having period type cramping in waves but it's only been happening in the evening is this braxton hicks or should I be getting checked out? I don't want to be a waste of their time at triage if it's just braxton hicks. Be greatful for any advice Thankyou Blush

I would go and get checked. You’re never wasting their time

At 33 weeks it's more likely to be Braxton Hicks than early labour, but you wouldn't be wasting anyone's time OP. Get checked out if that's what you feel you need. Are they just 'tightenings' or is there any build up of pain?

Hello OP, try and stay calm and relaxed. From memory it sounds like it could be braxton hicks (I've had 3 children but the youngest is almost 16 years).

Have you been doing a lot of walking/exercise today. I'm not saying you shouldn't, its just that I remember doing long hikes brought on BHs with me.

If you are in any doubt of your dates, of if they become more intense I would contact your maternity unit/a & e though x

Im 35w+2 days and been experiencing the same last few days. Sounds like braxton hicks, but no harm in going in to be checked just incase. X

Thankyou for all your replies I have been really active nesting is kicking in and I'm on the go with my 2 year old. It does feel like how my labour started last time but it eases off after an hour or 2 instead of ramping up like when I was in true labour, it's been happening every evening for a week now so I guess it's a matter of waiting to see if the pains become more consistent?. I'm only worrying because it's still a little bit too early to be going into labour yet

OP like you I've been having BH for a while, at least for a few weeks now (I'm 36 weeks on Monday). It's worse in the evenings with me. This is my second pregnancy and I actually didn't get this, this early last time or to this intensity. But for me most of the contractions stop after a while, if the pain ever increases with the frequency and length of contraction then I might think I'm going into labour.

You can always ring MAU like others have said, I've done it a couple of times and was strapped to the machine for a couple of hours. But it does reassure you.
