Pregnant at almost 45 after 9 years of trying

I’m in total and utter shock. We had got completely used to the idea that it would never ever happen. We’ve never had anything more than a few possible chemical pregnancies that finished as soon as they started in the 9 years we’ve tried. I was always ok fertility wise, it was DH with the issues and we had just accepted our blended family as it was, children are all mid teens and adults.
Period is two weeks late so did a test and come up positive.
We’ve both been laughing hysterically whilst sobbing all day.

I’m very worried about my career as it’s just got started after 5 years of hard graft and I love it, but will cross that bridge when I come to it as it could all go wrong yet.

I just can’t believe it!!

Congrats! Sorry, who has older children? You or your DH?
Its very early days, but I'd look into have the NIPT done privately.

We both have children already, a wide range of ages. My bio eldest is 26 and my bio youngest is 16, but DH and I never managed to have one together.

Wow, what a shock. And if your period is 2 weeks late, you’re already 6 weeks?

Congratulations!

Congratulations! I've got everything crossed for you.

Thanks! I think it works out as 5 weeks 3 days as I’ve always had a 25 day cycle 😀
