Hello,
So we have a handful of decorative old cat plates that my parents gave my kids (because they like cats) and I didn’t realise they were decorative and have been using them for food like normal plates since christmas. I just noticed on the bottom it says ‘these are decorative and eating from the vessel can be harmeful’, assuming they mean either the pain is toxic, has lead or the glaze is toxic? Anyway i’ve been panicking and feeling sick since reading that. I’m 35 weeks pregnant and now i’m super worried that i’ve exposed my children and my unborn baby to harmful heavy metals for the past few months. Am i right to worry? Is there anything i can do now?
Thank you.

How old are they?
Unless they predate 1992 they do not have lead paint on them. Even if they’re older lead in the paint is extremely unlikely in these circumstances.
I really wouldn’t worry too much.

I would expect this warning to be just one of those things companies put on stuff to cover their own backs.

You'll be fine. Relax. Being relaxed is good for the baby too.

They were made in 1994 apparently according to the stamp on the back. Thank you, that’s reassuring.

I have had terrible anxiety during this pregnancy, I’m not sure what triggered it but it’s been mostly health anxiety. Thank you I will try to relax.

If they are fully glazed, with no decoration on top of glaze, and glaze is intact, a quick google suggests (to none expert me) , move on, and don't use again.
