@Beck3115 no, with my eldest I had none at all except occasionally the smell of certain food cooking would make me feel sick. Second time around I had about 5-6 weeks of constant nausea and I had to go on anti sickness tablets. Both of them are boys, so no idea why it hit me more the second time round apart from obviously being older.

Hi all,

I have just read through this thread and it seems like a lot of us can’t quite believe we’re pregnant.

I actually joined this thread very early on but I had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks…. 3 weeks later and I’ve just tested positive. I was initially due on 1st December and based on my ‘LMP’ / early miscarriage I am due on 31st December - what a New Year’s Eve that will be!!!

I am feeling quite anxious and ecstatic at the same time. I’ve got quite a lot of nausea that is definitely pregnancy related and my boobs don’t feel normal. These were the 2 symptoms I had with DS. My early miscarriage I didn’t have any so I’m feeling much happier about this ones prospect.

I only found out this morning at 9 or 10 DPO and I am currently sitting with my pregnancy test in front of me, so I can glance at it and make sure its not all a dream - has anyone else been carrying round a positive pregnancy test?

Looking forward to going through the journey with you all 🤞

Hello all! Approx just 5 weeks pregnant and estimated from flow and few other apps about 19/20th of December.

I'm always worried about what I eat. I can't wait to get to the 12 week mark so I can feel more assured.

emmies86 · 17/04/2024 13:44

Is anyone else having late sickness? Mine starts at midnight and ends around 5 or 6am. I'm shattered. I can't eat ginger as it makes me sicker anyone got any advice?

Beck3115 · 17/04/2024 17:13

@Rhubarbcrumble100 my first baby is a New Year’s Eve babe x

littlepanda88 · 17/04/2024 17:52

@starryx hi there! I'm also around 5 weeks and due date says 20th December as well! Are you having many symptoms? The main thing I have noticed is how exhausted I am, honestly napping when possible and just no energy! But no sickness yet.. I'm sure it will come! :) congrats!

Molly4689 · 17/04/2024 18:41

@emmies86 I'm feel sick all the time including at night, same in my last pregnancy and I find taking crackers to bed and eating one if I wake up and before I get up helps a bit. I can't stomach ginger either. Maybe speak to your GP about some anti sickness too and take one before bed. x

Hi all

This is my first pregnancy, 4 weeks and only 2 times of TTC so quite a shock, I expected it to take ages!

Anyway, all being well we're looking at a 20th Dec baby.

I'm due on the 20th December too, but I had a chemical in august and I keep having cramps

Have you had any symptoms? I've had brief moments of nausea (I had HG in my last pregnancy so worried I'll have that again), sore boobs and cramps.

RedRobyn2021 · 17/04/2024 19:55

@Harribo86 hi 👋 I'm due the 20th too, congratulations, it's nice that it didn't take long. With my first DD we conceived on the first cycle and I felt it was a big shock. I was shocked this time too (despite trying for 9 months) but you always prepare yourself for it to take longer don't you?

RedRobyn2021 · 17/04/2024 19:58

@littlepanda88 I'm due 20th December too! There's quite a few of us due on that date isn't there 😂

I've had sore boobs this week and I'm quite sure they've got bigger, this is what happened in my last pregnancy my boobs got bigger and just never went down. Have you had any cramps? I have been having cramps for about a week now

Yeah definitely. We got married in November but had to wait a little before we could conceive as we went to a Zika virus country for our honeymoon. We just assumed we'd be trying ages and part of me worries it's too good to be true, like something bad will happen!

My brain is all over the place, it's a lot to take in.
I think also keeping it secret makes it seem less real, but im sure when it's common knowledge it'll seem real.

Have you told anyone? Should I wait until three months? I really don't know.

RedRobyn2021 · 17/04/2024 19:59

@Rhubarbcrumble100 wow congratulations, what a roller coaster for you

I've only had weird stomach gurgle noises, which seems weird.
I knew because my period was late and it never is, I just felt something was different so I said to my hubs I need to do a test, he thought I was being silly!

Kinda wondering when the other symptoms will kick in, like sore boobs for example. Mine are small so it might be a giveaway.

RedRobyn2021 · 17/04/2024 20:04

@Harribo86

With my DD who is 3 now, I told my mum the day after I found out and my partner rang and told his parents about a week after. But we were in covid times then as it was May 2020 so we didn't really see anyone, work figured it out quite quickly as I couldn't stop being sick, so there was never a nice announcement it was just survival mode - not fun I'm sorry to say.

Personally, I would tell those closest to me but keep it off social media and my outer circle until later. Do whatever you feel comfortable with though

RedRobyn2021 · 17/04/2024 20:06

@Harribo86 how did you partner take it when it turned out you weren't being silly? 😂

My partner was the exact same with my first, thought I was being silly and then he made me take another test because he thought the first might be faulty 🤣

Yeah ok thanks. We have family coming to stay next weekend so I thought I'd tell them then as I can do it face to face.
My other problem is I'm usually the most social at work, always suggesting a lunch time pub visit and we have lots of socials. I'm always the one bringing people together and planning things, same with friends too.
It's going to be so obvious when I'm out and about and don't drink!
But then again I thought I could say we're trying so I'm not drinking, then once I've got confident this baby is real, I'll say something

Harribo86 · 17/04/2024 20:07

My partner was the exact same with my first, thought I was being silly and then he made me take another test because he thought the first might be faulty 🤣

So I messaged him like, you need to come home, I feel weird and my period is never late and I want to do a test.
He came home and I said I couldn't look, so a few mins later he was like 'ummm what's it meant to say' I told him it was a digital one so it's quite obvious. He showed me and we were in shock, he was happy but also shocked how quick it happened!
