Hi, no advise re your test results but I carry a genetic condition that my first son was born with so I had 3 x CVS test with my other children. All went well with all of them and I got negative results with a 1 in 4 chance each time.

I hope tomorrow goes okay.

I know it’s impossible not to worry but I found the CVS procedure itself ok (the waiting for results etc was much harder). I was obviously scared but it was over fairly quickly. They sort of pumped the needle in a bit (just to prepare you) which was a weird sensation but not really painful, just a bit uncomfortable. I did get a lot of cramps afterwards but only for an hour or so. They gave me some paracetamol at the hospital. Be aware that sometimes due to positioning they can’t safely get to the placenta and so you may have to wait for an amnio in a couple of weeks (I’ve had an amnio too, which in my experience was easier than the CVS).
