Fallen down stairs

I’m twelve weeks.
fallen down the last few stairs and landed on my bum. Bum hurts but it’s well cushioned. Don’t feel I felt any other impact. Do you think I need to follow up anywhere?

I did this when I was quite heavily pregnant. Not the full staircase, just the last 5 or so. I slipped and landed heavily on my bum. Baby was absolutely fine, they are generally well protected in there. But if you are worried it can't hurt to see your midwife, they will listen to the heartbeat and reassure you.

Thank you. I am very anxious as it’s an IVF pregnancy and literally our last chance.
would they listen to heartbeat at twelve weeks?
I think the rational part of me is saying that everything’s probably fine, I guess I just wanted some reassurance. So annoyed at myself 😂

They may well not be able to hear a heartbeat on a doppler at 12weeks but i think you're fine from a pregnancy perspective and no need to be seen by a professional

Thanks so much! I’m trying not to be as anxious in this pregnancy as I was in my last but then things like this happen and mess it all up 😂

@Latenightanxiety I did exactly this when pregnant with my son (think I was a bit further along as had a bump). I rang my hubby in a panic - he's a doctor. He calmed me down but said to also ring my community midwife if it would reassure me further. They weren't worried. As you say, little one is well protected in there and a fall on your bum isn't even a direct hit to that area.

My dog has jumped directly on to my tummy several times since I've been pregnant, she weighs about 10 kgs. No harm done at all and I'm 27 weeks now. At 12 weeks the baby is tiny and surrounded by fluid so it would have to be a big direct impact to do any harm.

I fell down the stairs at 16 weeks. All was fine. It’s actually very common in pregnancy especially as you get bigger. Baby is very well cushioned in there and will have been completely unaware
