Anyone else tested super early and due December 2024? This is my 2nd pregnancy after a mmc 2 days after my 12 week scan in December and actual miscarriage in January.

Hoping this will be the 1 that sticks and is healthy. Think my due date is Dec 3rd

@Molly4689 @LeeMarie

Just wondering how soon you noticed a difference with energy levels after taking the tablets?

It would be nice to have more energy to be honest

I noticed a difference after about 4-5 days x

Jumping on here in a bit of a panic tonight.

My blood pressure readings have been edging on higher and higher since my booking in appointment but I have been told all are still normal (never been given the figures...)

The last few weeks I've been quite poorly with heartburn and indigestion, somethings even on a empty stomach. Upper stomach gets very uncomfortable and tight, bloated feeling.

Yesterday I had spots/stars in my vision but it was after I bent down and up quickly to scoop something off the floor so I assumed I just moved too fast.

Today I've felt very odd, almost dizzy at some points.

I've had some lower stomach discomfort. I assumed baby pressure on pelvis but decided to dip my urine anyway (I am prone to a UTI hint why I have these sticks at home) and was alarmed to see white cells, protein and blood showing up in the readings. The white cells are +++ whereas the blood and protein are + so not as high.

I'm panicking about preeclampsia now as I know my symptoms are all fitting into that.

I have the midwives first thing in the morning so I am going to be checked over but just needed a bit of a vent.

I'm 28.5 weeks, 4th pregnancy 3rd baby after a late loss, never had preeclampsia but my BP did increase throughout pregnancies with all my babies.

I have read that discharge etc can effect the dipstick readings and, TMI, I do have a lot of that at the moment so I wonder if I've contaminated the sample somehow plus it was a dribble wee as I didn't really need. I do plan on retesting mid stream to hopefully rule out / confirm this potential contamination.

Has anyone on here had preeclampsia? Or similar issues?

I am that worried that I'm 100% certain by BP will be through the roof tomorrow AM regardless! How do they confirm preeclampsia, is it just protein and BP?

Nobody has said anything about my blood pressure but I've had these symptoms and I definitely had them when I was pregnant with my daughter

Heartburn/indigestion
Dizziness
Feeling bloated & tight
More discharge

Basically sums up my experience at the moment

I was treated with suspected preeclampsia at the very end of my pregnancy with my son and was one of the reasons why I was recommended to induce (was 38 weeks, so next steps are different).

They first suspected due to my BP and protein in my urine but did also take blood to rule it out properly. The blood test actually showed it wasn’t but I would definitely ask for them to rule it out this way at your midwife appointment. I think one thing they may do is prescribe aspirin and then maybe monitoring too.

Hope it’s not and just a UTI, if anything 🤞🏽

Sorry for such a late night/early morning response, currently suffering from awful insomnia and been tossing and turning for the last hour 😢

RedRobyn2021 · 02/10/2024 06:30

@Firsttimetrier

Insomnia is the worst

Since being pregnant I wake in the night sometimes for hours, that's why my response was at a ridiculous time too

Tbf I did go to bed ridiculously early last night because I woke up at 5am yesterday.

CatCaretaker · 02/10/2024 08:34

I have the insomnia too, I'm just suddenly wide awake at 3/4/5am, but exhausted during the day. Doesn't matter what time I go to bed, I always wake. My friend reckons it's to prepare us for lack of sleep in the future ...

It's the worst time to wake because then the anxiety kicks in, and wakes me up even more.

That’s the best I also wake and nothing helps me back to sleep.

I wouldn’t mind so much but I have a 2 year old and as soon as he wakes, it’s go, go, go. I think I may need to start WFH more so I can have a nap on my lunch as I’m constantly exhausted.

CatCaretaker · 02/10/2024 10:57

@Mumandababy I'm in ROI so no good to you, but your poster says Sept/Oct, probably needs updating :-)

Also, do you have an NHS email address? That would probably be more professional to put down, if you have one? Maybe they don't give you one as a student, I don't know, just asking :-).

Good luck with your training :-).

Firsttimetrier · 02/10/2024 12:45

@Mumandababy I would probably try posting on a FB for your local area. I remember someone did this nearby us and she got loads of responses.

Hope you found a family and training goes well.

CatCaretaker · 02/10/2024 13:37

Hi, ROI = Republic of Ireland. A different country.

Molly4689 · 02/10/2024 14:22

@OnNaturesCourse I have almost all of your symptoms and low folate and anemia. Before that I just thought it was pregnancy! Worth getting a urine test as a UTI could cause dizziness etc. too although when I did have a urine infection I had no symptoms (was just picked up on a routine test).

LilyJessie · 02/10/2024 14:22

@Firsttimetrier
Definitely try to WFH and take naps when you can. Tiredness is hard work!!

Lunamoon23 · 03/10/2024 09:22

Feeling v fragile today. Was woken from sleep at 2am this morning with horrendous stomach cramps and feeling v sick. End up throwing up until 4am, have had to call in sick for work today (which I hate doing)... very odd.
Can't be what we had for dinner as it was fresh, cooked properly and DH is fine...
haven't had any morning sickness or sickness of any kind throughout this pregnancy so can't imagine it's sudden onset of that, especially at 29 weeks?
Did have a google and panicked because it mentioned preclamsie.. but I wouldn't say I'm swollen. My legs and feet have been a little bit from about week 20+ but not alarmingly noticeable.

OnNaturesCourse · 03/10/2024 13:46

@Lunamoon23 could it maybe just be a bit of a virus or bug? Was your dinner particularly rich or heavy... As I know my indigestion makes me extremely nauseous at the moment and I have had to fight back the sick at night.

Update on me - no preeclampsia, no UTI. Seems to have been a contamination of the sample I used. Other symptoms all put down to "one of those pregnancy things"

I really don't know. Possible bug I guess.
I had a cooked gammon joint, cheesy mash potato and peas for tea and my DH ate the same and was/is fine. It was all in date and cooked properly. Went to sleep feeling fine, it was more the cramps that concerned me. They were quite intense.
I haven't been sick today but have felt quite nauseous and am now starting to get a bit of a headache, but just taken some paracetamol so hopefully they'll rid of that. Think my mistake was googling it. Difficult not to when it's your first pregnancy, hopefully come tomorrow morning I'll feel fine.
Glad your results all came back ok! That's reassuring.

I think my mum and step dad have a BP machine at home, I've messaged her to check and if so I think I might burrow it until the end of my pregnancy, just so I can check things if I'm feeling abit off. Going to have a pretty bland dinner tonight too. X

HelterSkelter224 · 04/10/2024 10:05

Keen to get your thoughts please - I have a work thing I want/need to go to when I'll be 33w almost 34w in early November. It's at a rural venue about 2.5h away from me so potentially up to a 5h round trip assuming traffic from/to the city I'm coming from is ok.

It's a route I've done loads (work venue) and as a bonus I work for a children's healthcare charity so I'd be driving to a place with ambulances on tap and choc full of brilliant paediatric drs and nurses should anything go wrong. I don't have any major risk factors (previous pre-eclampsia so I'm being monitored for that) and get growth scans due to low papp-a so I will have had a growth scan 2 weeks prior.

Husband freaking out about me driving on my own. The day ends at 5 but I can leave at lunch if I want to avoid traffic and dark evening.

Would you go?

CatCaretaker · 04/10/2024 10:24

@HelterSkelter224 why did he freak out? About the driving itself? About the distance from home?

Yes I'd go (though I've never been 33/34 weeks pregnant, I'm 27 weeks now, so maybe I just don't understand what it will be like?). Assuming you feel OK I'd definitely go. I used to work with a commuted 2 hours each way every day.

HelterSkelter224 · 04/10/2024 10:35

@CatCaretaker - the distance, the remoteness, dark mornings, dark evenings, me being alone... 🤦‍♀️ tbh I'd probably be safer where I'm going than the hospital were anything to happen!!

LilyJessie · 04/10/2024 15:15

@CatCaretaker
I personally would just see how I felt on the day, and if I felt up to it and wanted too, I would go!

Firsttimetrier · 04/10/2024 16:25

I’d probably go @CatCaretaker. I remained pretty active and lived my normal life right until the end. I was at a party an hour away at 38 weeks, so going that far earlier on wouldn’t have crossed my mind.

I do think it depends on how you feel though. I know some friends who didn’t feel as active, so maybe make a call based off your growth scan and how you feel the week before?

CatCaretaker · 04/10/2024 16:29

@HelterSkelter224 people above are mistaking me for you :-).

Lunamoon23 · 04/10/2024 19:00

Have any of you ladies started to experience a very different sensation to the little kicks yet?? I can feel baby full on turning now and it can often feel abit painful. Feels like a scraping kind of feeling, and the kicks literally make my whole bump move 😂 30 weeks on Monday.
I also feel as though he's super low down. Right at the bottom of my bump almost into my vagina. Which made me panic at first but have read it's quiet normal for baby to drop from about 29 weeks +.

@HelterSkelter224 I agree with some of the other ladies, I'd see how I felt on the day. I'm 29 weeks now, so third trimester and although still remaining very active, still working full time and I'm on my feet all day everyday, I'm certainly noticing a change in how I feel. It's definitely getting harder.. so imagine in another 4-5 weeks it'll be harder still. Take it day by day xxxx

LilyJessie · 04/10/2024 19:47

@Lunamoon23
Yes! Definitely me. We are exactly the same time along as well! So that's definitely normal.
I am high risk due to previous loss, therefore get lots of scans. Baby was head down and that's totally normal for this time. Can be a weird sensation when they bounce on your bladder can't it!!

@HelterSkelter224 @CatCaretaker Whoops!! I did. I have done that a couple times on here 🤦🏼‍♀️

RedRobyn2021 · 04/10/2024 19:50

@HelterSkelter224

I would go if I wanted to

I've been pregnant before too and it wouldn't occur to me not to go

RedRobyn2021 · 04/10/2024 19:53

@Lunamoon23

Yes I have this with my baby, 29 weeks tomorrow

Feel like a pot belly pig this evening

How are you feeling today? Sounds like you had a nasty sickness bug
