I have read two different articles one by the independent one guardian one states more boys are conceived in autumn and the other one suggests April is best for boys what did you guys have and when were they born?

Never heard of this. Initially sounds ridiculous but my boy was conceived in October and girl was June so not actually far off.

excitedmama2be · 20/03/2024 21:54

Would love to know how diff seasons affect the sperm which determines the gender

Loubelle70 · 20/03/2024 21:56

Girls...all autumn conceived 😁🤘

Newsenmum · 20/03/2024 21:57

I really don’t think this is how it works.
Girl conceived in spring (April to be exact) and boy conceived in winter.

Chasingbaby2 · 20/03/2024 22:36

I've just re read, so there's two conflicting reports of the way this works? Can't say I follow and really wouldn't put too much stock in this

PickledScrump · 20/03/2024 23:15

Sounds like a load of rubbish. I can’t see how seasons would change the sperm. FWIW I have 3 children, conceived in autumn, winter and spring, all three are girls.

cantlosebabyweight · 20/03/2024 23:17

Boy conceived in October here!

SnookyPook · 21/03/2024 10:41

Sounds iffy to me 😂 aren't there national statistics available for boys/girls births over the year? Would mean for instance more of one sex being born in the older half of the school cohort. Agreed with @excitedmama2be that it's down to the sperm.. so unless XX swim better in warm temps etc..?!

FWIW

Sis and I both December babies (so conceived March). Our Dad is also December baby. Mum was born in August.

My son was conceived April. Will find out sex of current pregnancy next week (conceived Nov).

My Sis has a girl conceived April and a son conceived Dec.

Nothing conclusive from our family!

Rosesanddaisies1 · 21/03/2024 14:15

clearly a load of rubbish. P

MallorcaNights · 21/03/2024 14:28

Sounds like rubbish. Surely the postnatal wards are pretty much 50:50 at all times of the year

Revelatio · 21/03/2024 14:32

If This was true you’d clearly notice it!!

most people have a 50:50 chance.

Blue2020 · 21/03/2024 16:13

Boy in April.

whitenoisemachine · 21/03/2024 16:14

What a load of rubbish.

Girl conceived in winter and boy conceived in spring here.

Blue2020 · 21/03/2024 16:14

*Oh you said conceived- ds conceived in August, born April.

NotestoSelf · 21/03/2024 16:19

Sources for any of this?

Bells3032 · 21/03/2024 16:21

i don't understand how this would have any impact on the sex of the baby at all.

Pregnant with my second girl. one conceived in April/May and the other in November

stargirl1701 · 21/03/2024 16:28

Both DDs conceived in Autumn (Nov/Dec). Both born in Summer (Aug/Sep).

socks1107 · 21/03/2024 16:33
