The dreaded 2 week wait. Measuring 2 weeks behind

This pregnancy business is just torture.

My LMP was on 28.01.24 and my cycles typically last between 29-32 days. I had a miscarriage back in December. I’m not sure how far gone I was, but it would have been early days.

I had a strong positive on 22.02.24. At my early reassurance scan today, I was measuring at 5+2 not 7+2. They can see the sac and yolk, but are saying it’s too early to see a baby and hear a heartbeat.

Please, can anyone shed some truthful and honest light? Is it likely that there is no viable pregnancy, or does anyone have any positive stories?

hi @Inforapound I just wanted to say I’m in the same situation as you. Lmp 27/1 shorter cycles though of 25-26 days, tested positive on the 18/2. I had my dating scan on Monday, 18/3, I should have been 7.2 but measured 6.1 there was a fetal pole but no heart beat (which would normally be seen by then).
super confused because I still feel pregnant, but im also sure of my dates and know they’re not off. Also a heart beat should be visible by 6mm. I see my dr this coming Monday, he has a little ultrasound machine so will scan me. It’s an emotional roller coaster.
how are you feeling? Do you still have symptoms? When do you get seen again

Sorry to hear that you’re going through the same. It really is an emotional rollercoaster. It doesn’t get any easier.

I know symptoms can come and go anyway, so I try not to base it off that too much, although it’s easier said than done. I get seen in 2 weeks. Symptom wise, I have been needing a wee slightly more than normal and I do feel quite nauseous at times!

@Inforapound 2 weeks is such a long time to wait! That’s hard.
1 week is bad enough.

when I had my first, I went for my 12 week scan and I was measuring 2 weeks behind. My cycle was bang on every 28 days and I got my positive the day my period was due so I knew 100% that I couldn’t be 2 weeks behind. When I went back 2 weeks later she was showing as 12 weeks and is now 12 years old. I have never been able to get an explanation of why she was 2 weeks behind.

Ive seen quite a few posts like this and being completely honest a lot of the time they don’t end up being good news and if you got a strong positive on 22/2 unfortunately I would be preparing myself, But I always like to share my experience as its not always negative.

Also remember in the early stages they are measuring mms so there is room for error
