Is it normal? 5 weeks and diarrhoea instead of morning sickness?

Hello, I’m 5 weeks tomorrow and experiencing a dodgy tummy every morning when I wake up. This has been going on for the last several days now. I also have waves of nausea that come and go, usually at the thought or smell of certain foods. Anxiety at an all time high, just want our rainbow baby to be ok!

Does this sound normal? Has anyone else had this and had a healthy pregnancy?

Hey OP. I’m currently 22+5 and I’ve had diarrhoea throughout (sorry it hasn’t stopped 🤣). I’ve not been sick once throughout this pregnancy but the diarrhoea just hasn’t eased off. I had my 20 week scan the other week and baby is growing well. Plus side is Ive gained no weight. I did speak to my midwife and doctor about the diarrhoea as this is my first baby and I wasn’t sure but apparently that and or constipation is normal. Good luck and hopefully yours eases off

Obviously I’m not an expert but it’s most likely hormone related. Very common especially in early pregnancy!

Yes, happened to me also around 5 weeks. Fortunately for me it only lasted about a week.

I had this too at around 5 weeks, lasted a few weeks. I've too read it is due to the surge of hormones!

I’m 6 weeks and pretty much every morning for the last couple of days I have had horrible, crampy diarrhoea. I have IBS anyway, so it’s a 50/50 whether I have it in a morning, but it’s become a regular thing in my pregnancy, and it’s incredibly frustrating and uncomfortable.
