So I need some advice ladies and gents, I have a bit of an issue, I was fine with 4 kids life has its struggles but it is manageable as I haven't lost my marbles yet I think it was my perfect amount but then 1 split cnom thankyou durex and boom, I've never fell so easy! Now my question is cause I'm stressing so hard, how was having 5 kids any different to 4? Does it make much difference, I'm absolutely terrified of labour and delivery again (only ever used gas and air and V births) but baby 4 was induction so now comes question 2, how bad are elective c sections, am I better off just pushing? How was epidural for everyone? Though not sure I wouldn't be wimping out with my needle phobia..... someone please help a stressed gal out ❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤🩶🤍

Hi OP,

I am also pregnant with no5 (28 weeks along), but this was very much planned (still surprising at my age). I know what you mean by being stressed because we have done this so many times before and we kind of know what is coming (also all v births, gas and air and pethidine).

The only benefits are - we know what to expect. I had a long discussion with the midwife and doctors, stating exactly how I would like my birth plan to go this time and this might help you too with the anxiety you feel. I know having a long chat with my midwife really helped me and I felt so much more in control, and also I feel like I would be able to be more forthright about what I would like (eg - not ending up on my back for labour, I always have back to back babies).

I wish I could advise you about having 5 children, but so far I am super happy with four (all but one teenagers) and miss having a small one in the house again.

It would be lovely to hear from someone with 5+ children… how crazy is life going to get?

Hiya thankyou for your response, I will try doing all that! If they were teenagers I don't know I may feel less stressed but I'm 25 with a 6yo 4yo 3yo and 1yo so the house is already an absolute zoo, I love it but my baby is still sooooo clingy and breastfeeding and I think that's what terrifies me the most and of course that horrid Labour pain 😅 I did hate the fact my 4th was my last as I was sad I'd have no more ickle bubbas but was not expecting this! I am somewhat happy and excited but also the opposite end of emotions too and hopefully we get some good stories hey? X

Well you girls are making me feel better saying you are happy with 4 because I have 3 and found out last weekend I’m pregnant again with what will be a surprise 4th baby!! My mum always said once you’ve had 3 you can keep going because you’re outnumbered & that’s when life gets crazy… and after reading you all saying you’re happy with 4 makes me feel positive 🙂 and I think if you are saying this, you will breeze having 5 🥰

for the csection of question, i had my first nuatrually, second emergency section, third a planned section, if I had a choice I’d go naturally before a section because of how hard going the recovery is… I know what to expect now but that first one I had really took it out me, it’s major surgery then you need to recover whilst caring for a newborn, would only opt for one if they tell you you need to have one x
