What amount of discomfort is normal?

I am 30 weeks and the couple of days my stomach up to just below my ribs has been really uncomfortable.
It’s rock solid and I have a fairly constant dull ache pain all over my tummy, sometimes really tender to touch and very tight, sometimes I can feel a tightening sensation that sort of moves across then goes away for a bit.

It feels like a balloon has been inflated inside of me and I’m about to burst!! This is my first and my bump is still really tiny, I can still carry out all activities as I normally would.

I’m aware it’s probably common to have some discomfort in the third trimester in particular but I guess I’m just not sure how much discomfort is normal?

Thank you :)

Hi
Nearly there how exciting! I’m currently breastfeeding my 7 week old as I write this 😀

im a pretty small person, 5’2 and a size 8 when i got pregnant. Come the 3rd trimester I just gave in to the fact that being uncomfortable was normal. Some days the baby would have a foot right up under my rib and it was agony, other times I’d have a constant ache in my groin from the weight. I think it’s just normal to have all these weird pains going on! However if you’re worried I would call just to be on the safe side :)

I'm 30+2 and feel the EXACT same. I'm fairly petite and in photos I don't think I look that big, but I feel enormous, stretched and uncomfortable.

That's not particularly helpful, but you're not alone!

Thank you both for your replies! And congratulations @FTMaz ☺️

I’m sorry to hear you have both also felt uncomfortable. It’s like 30 weeks is on the home stretch but also two more months feels like AGES! I stupidly thought I’d get away without too much discomfort as I’m 5ft 10 so quite tall but it’s already feeling super crowded in there.

best of luck @Sa11yCinnamon - we must be due around the exact same time!
