Hey ladies, just wondered if anyone's got any advice or information on placenta accreta? Had my 21 weeks scan this week and the sonographer is pretty certain my placenta is attached to my c section scar, told me I have to be scanned again at 24 weeks and if it hasn't moved I'll be transferred over to a bigger hospital for my care from then on. I tried asking questions but it was very obvious she didnt want to give out anymore information on it and after getting home and googling it im not surprised 😩 shitting my pants now!!

I don't have any experience as yet, my placentas low but like you waiting on a scan to confirm. My consultant was very helpful though and said if it is it will only affect when and how they go in next time, it might be a bit earlier than a normal elective c section and although they'll use the same external scar, internally it might be a different placement. I think it's more of a concern if you were doing a vaginal birth and they didn't know you had it because the placenta wouldn't detach itself and come out normally!

I'm so sorry I've only just seen your reply! That makes it sound a lot better than dr google that's for sure! Fingers crossed for us both that it moves in time anyway 🤞🏼 xx

I just went through this and had my baby recently. Consultants were 100% sure it’s accreta from 24weeks, they can only find out the full extent at delivery. I must say though that take some comfort in the fact that you have been diagnosed because they will be well prepped for your delivery which is of utmost importance.

Message me directly with any questions you have, care, delivery, recovery etc. I’ll be happy to answer.
