Hello everyone I went to hospital on Wednesday with contractions every 2/3 minutes lasting about 60 seconds long - these lasted for several hours I stayed in hospital and got measured twice and was 2cm both times so I came home and then they stopped and happened again Thursday morning, went back to hospital after they carried on for several hours but was still only 2cm! After they prodded round 3 different times I think they disturbed my cervix as I’ve been loosing the attached picture for days I presume is my mucus plug? It’s my second baby and I’m doing everything to try and speed it up!!! Would you say this is my mucus plug?

No, my plug looked like a bloody blob of jelly, that looks more like waters as it’s a straw colour. I was 2cm dilated 72 hours before I gave birth, carried on all weekend as normal and contractions proper started on the 3rd day.

Or just normal discharge

As I posted this I went the toilet and lost a very very large string like blob of mucus, with a tint of brown in it

If it's your second, then surely you've realised by now that babies come when they come and very little you can do will speed it up. Losing your plug also doesn't mean baby is imminent (though your picture is just normal discharge). So I really would suggest just chilling out. Having had my second 8 months ago, I wish I hadn't wanted to rush those last few blissful days before the carnage of 2 came and obliterated my life. I adore my two, and wouldn't change a thing, but it's next level intense compared to life with one
