Painful cramps- pain relief

Hi,

I'm 4+5 and had a scan at the EPU today where the doctor say gestational sac + yolk sac in the right place in my womb so I know I'm not having an ectopic pregnancy. I'd been having cramping and sharp shooting pains in my vagina sporadically, which prompted the scan, but since the scan they have really ramped up and I'm in quite a bit of discomfort tonight. It's not period like cramps but trapped wind-like sudden stabbing pains that are making me grimace.

I've taken paracetamol and am not due for another dose until 8.45. I am also using a heated wheatbag for try and ease some of the pain. I am struggling to pass wind, but feel like I need to, which I suspect isn't helping matters.

I'm not looking to go back to the EPU- I have another scan in a week and I'm not at emergency threshold at all. I'm just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for other things I could try to ease some of this discomfort?

Thank you!

Trapped wind can be extremely painful try chewing gum it's meant to help get gas moving also try squatting or bringing your knees up to you tummy . You might just need to pass gas .

Peppermint tea works wonders for trapped gas! I had this too a few times and it's horrible, but does pass 🙂
