Is it harder to lose baby weight in your 40s?

Anyone had a baby after 40? Was it harder to lose than in your 30s?

I think it depends how much you put on in the first place. Regardless of age, the weight can often fall off especially if you do a million pram walks everyday which I did to keep my sanity!

Personally yes I found it much harder second time round. But this is probably because it's harder to have the willpower or free time to exercise when you have two small children.

I had my first at 44 and it wasn't any effort.

Yes, I have in the past it will be my 3rd but I had the other 2 in my early to mid 30s and while it took some work, I managed to get it off.
I'm 40 now and hoping I can do the same.

That's reassuring.

Weight gained as we approach the menopause, for whatever reason, can be more difficult to shift, but it's a lot easier if we focus on being active, healthy eating and strength training.

Better to take preemptive action than trying to play catch-up later 💪

I don't seem to have gained as quickly this time, in my last pregnancy which was quite close together, I was already showing by the end of the first trimester but even at 16 weeks I'm not showing, although I'm not in summer clothes yet.

Had DD1 at 34 and it took me around 18 months to get back to my pre baby weight, had DD2 at 41 and it took me 8 weeks, I was fitter though this time round and ran until 24 weeks when I was forced to stop
