Clearblue not progressing

Hi,

I done everything I told myself I wouldn’t do, after a previous miscarriage I tested again this morning using clear blue digital

When I tested on 28.01 It said 2-3 weeks. When I tested this morning it also said 2-3 weeks. According to the app, I am 5+2 weeks today.

This is going to end in miscarriage isn’t it? I can’t handle the anxiety!

No, not necessarily. I hate these tests! You are still early for a 3+ and for what it's worth I never got one, even at 6 weeks. However a hcg draw a few days later showed really high levels so it's not worth worrying about and the ranges are massive for a viable pregnancy anyway

Detailed info about clearblue weeks indicator digital

Taken from another board - very interesting read: There seems to be some confusion about what the results of this test mean. I'll try to clear things up.…

If you reeeally want to track progression I would stick to cheap pink dye as generally I found that worked OK but if you can hold off testing altogether even better. Still never got a dye stealer and all turned out fine. I couldn't help myself after multiple losses but in hindsight excessive testing made the anxiety 10x worse. Best of luck really hope things turn out well for you x

MrsMcnulty20 · 04/03/2024 11:07

These tests are the worst - I have seen so many threads about them and have been in the same situation myself. Took me much longer to get the 3+ than they suggested it should. It just stayed at 2-3 weeks.
I’m now 25 weeks.

emmatcc1 · 04/03/2024 11:08

It takes a high amount of hcg to make the digital say 3+ .

Makeitmakesenses · 04/03/2024 11:09

Thanks everyone, that does make me feel slightly better. These early stages are tough.

I think what doesn’t help is that my symptoms aren’t getting any worse either. I thought I would experience sickness or something by now, which I’m not. Just very sore boobs!

Bells3032 · 04/03/2024 11:09

these tests are so inaccurate. mine didn't tick over to 2-3 weeks til i was 20dpo so 4+6. it's meant to do so at 150 but i had a blood test the same day and my levels were over 600.

Please don't rely on them. they mean nothing. at 5+2 a 2-3 would be completely normal anyway. many don't get the 3+ to 6 weeks plus

pallyloo · 04/03/2024 11:10

Hi op

My last pregnancy didn't move into the 3+ until I was 7 weeks. There is so many variables such as urine concentration and levels of hcg at certain times so please don't focus on this and stop testing now!!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

pallyloo · 04/03/2024 11:12

Just to add I felt a bit off when I found out I was pregnant like tired etc however my symptoms did not kick off until 7/8 weeks when I think the HCG really kicked off. It's super early so you wouldn't have too much symptoms yet just more period like feelings.

Makeitmakesenses · 04/03/2024 11:21

You ladies really know how to ease my anxiety, thank you!

OP posts:
emmatcc1 · 04/03/2024 11:21

@Makeitmakesenses Pretty sure symptoms start appearing at 6-7 weeks. In my previous pregnancy group majority have started feeling sick around that time. Or maybe you’ll be one pf the lucky ones that don’t get sickness.

excitedmama2be · 04/03/2024 11:24

Clear blue digital is from conception not LMP , so to get 2-3 weeks on that , you need to be at least 5-6 weeks pregnant

Really? The leaflet says 5+ which I am. If it said 5-6 I probably would have been less anxious!

Chasingbaby2 · 04/03/2024 11:48

I don't remember what the leaflet says but I would ignore the digi OP. As others have said those tests are not reliable for dating. Just an expensive con imo! At this stage nothing can really predict how things will turn out but for now you are on track :)
Symptoms are likely to be right around the corner unless you are one of the lucky ones, and will be up and down anyway. Again won't tell you much either way. Would be more inclined to see if you can get an early scan from 6-7 weeks on focus on that as the next milestone.
Good luck! The early weeks are the worst when you just want to know if this is 'it' x

CB2805 · 04/03/2024 12:00

I wouldn’t put too many thoughts into those tests. I’m pregnant with twins and I only hit 3+ well above 6w and my beta levels were through the roof at this point.

Makeitmakesenses · 04/03/2024 12:19

Thanks everyone!

I will stop testing. It isn’t doing me any good.

Sickness gets going around 7-8 weeks mostly. And you do have a symptom, really sore boobs is a significant early symptom. All the best

SarahLHs · 04/03/2024 12:45

Mine didn't ever get to 3+ and I eventually stopped testing when I was about 7 weeks because that's when my sickness symptoms kicked in. All was fine.

Olika · 04/03/2024 12:58

@excitedmama2be is correct as it's counting from conception so you need to add 2 weeks on top to match from last period. I would stop testing and try to relax and eat healthy and take vitamins. 🤞🏼

Makeitmakesenses · 04/03/2024 15:39

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your responses.

I’ll step away from the tests now and await the outcome of our early scan.

lioneggs · 04/03/2024 17:22

When I had a chemical pregnancy I didn't get further than 1-2 even tho I should have been getting 2-3 at that point. Apparently some people don't get a 3+ ever! They're really unreliable x

LiIacMoon · 04/03/2024 18:21

They aren't designed to track your hcg levels. Your pregnant. They arent going to tell you anything about the health of your pregnancy.
My clearblue digital was ridiculously slow to increase. I was only 2-3 weeks when I was actually 5+weeks pregnant via ivf . I only progressed to 3+ at week 7.
I also did cheap tests and after week 8 my tests actually started decreasing in line intensity.
I too had a previous mc.
Speaking from experience, stop testing your going to drive yourself mental .
I'm currently 21 weeks so tests really tell you nothing other than if your pregnant or not

Also in same situation. I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and have had 2-3 weeks for almost 2 weeks now. I have had 8 miscarriages so I’m certainly worried. I definitely had 3+ around 4-5 weeks in my last pregnancy too so wondered how this turned out for you please?

bananabread23 · 05/06/2025 19:50

Sorry to hear about your losses @WillowRose1411that's a lot to go through. Unfortunately things didn't go well for me. I had an early scan at 7 weeks and was measuring 2 weeks behind. I had a repeat scan a week later and their was growth and heartbeat. I then had a follow up today 8 days later which showed no growth and no heartbeat. I don't know if the test is a reliable indicator of a problem or not tbh - all you can do is take each day as it comes and count yourself as pregnant until you have firm evidence you are definitely not. However I understand wanting to guard your heart, especially after previous lossess. Really hope things turn out well for you

Thank you for your reply. I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’ve convinced myself that it is bad news to be honest, i find it better to cope that way. I have a private scan on Sunday (3 days) so we will see. I’m sending you lots of love and strength it’s so tough xx
