Going insane - ectopic or what?

Hello, I'm about 22DPO / 5 weeks. I've been doing home pregnancy tests which have been strange with line strengths getting stronger then weaker. I then started bleeding and got a dye stealer (below). I had a bad feeling so same day as the dye stealer (yesterday) got a private scan at window 2 the womb who found no evidence of pregnancy but saw a mass on the left tube/ovary not exactly sure where and said it's an ectopic.
I went to A&E and had a HCG blood test and they admitted me. HCG has come back as 24, only 7 hours after the below dye stealer. Urine pregnancy test at the hospital this morning is negative. Yet they say the size of the mass seen in the private clinic notes seems too big for a HCG of 24. Now waiting for the hospital to re-scan me.
Was this even ever an ectopic? Cervix is still closed.

@User134298 so sorry you're going through this. Nothing helpful to add but just wanted to bump this for you as I know there are certainly others on here who've been through ectopics etc. I had a weird pregnancy last Autumn with weirdly rising HCG but mine was never high enough to see anything on a scan and by the time they did one just to check, they couldn't see any sign of pregnancy anywhere except for bleeding on uterine lining so mine remained a mystery and never needed surgery or methotrexate in the end. I hope the hospital rescan provides some clarity for you. At least you are being taken seriously and in the right place to get the proper care.

As a note of hope, after my bleed from that loss, I got pregnant again straight away and am currently 16wks with a healthy looking pregnancy. 🙏🏼🌈

Good luck with it all. X

Thank you so much! I have now been scanned at the hospital and they are saying it was never an ectopic but the mass they saw was in fact the corpus luteum. They said my lining is thick so just have to wait to bleed now.

@User134298 so very sorry for your loss but glad you've had clarity and don't have to worry about ectopic on top of that. I hope the loss goes ok. Mine ended up being quite like a normal period despite me being 7wks (I don't think it had ever developed like a normal pregnancy so although I was 7wks the loss was more akin to a CP). Sending you love and light and hope your rainbow baby isn't too far behind. 🙏🏼🌈💕
