am i 5 weeks pg or 5?

Have had +ve tests and seen gp but will be having an early dating scan as i could be 9 or only 5 weeks pg.

Obviously had no period this month and last month i had sort of spotting for quite a few days before i came on and even then the 'on' wasnt very long. Normally just come on for 5 days then on again.

Waiting for midwife to contact me to sort date for scan but its bugging me not knowing! Any body had this? How long do you think i am? I have had sore boobs for 6 odd weeks.... but at the same time my heart is saying im only 5 weeks..-

it is possible to have an implantation bleed when your period is due, but if its any help the period before my missed one was also fairly light and only lasted a few days however my dates and scan results all point to the following month, plus my preg test the month before was neg on all 4 times lol.
I am now 33 weeks and they say measuring a little bit small, so there you go!

and for me the sore boobs was no great indication as i would get sore boobs when due on anyway.

congatulations, all will be clearer once you have your dating scan, in the meantime if your feeling well enjoy it while it lasts .

i never used to get sore boobs as a pms symptom or when i was pg with ds so very diff to me. If im not 9 weeks it must have been a very odd period for some reason..

im obviously not going to get a scan this week so earliest i will be is 6 weeks (next mon) how much can you actually see? Im guessing obviously not alot as so tiny? Is it a bit strange as it wont look like a 'baby'? Im abit worried about that!

im not the expert but in early stages pregnancy is easier to date. your not going to see a 'baby' at that early stage. but there are pointers that those trained in their field look for and are very good at doing, so have some faith.

In my area you have to go visit your gp to say your pregnant. They then refer you to a midwife who contacts you in the following week or so to make an initial booking visit ( at your home). All medical history relevant to pregnancy is taken, and be prepared for questions about your babys father regarding any herditary problems.

Then a dating scan appointment is made to be close to when you are roughly 12 weeks.

Are you going private for your scan ? I didnt know they offered scans so early on the NHS unless there was a suspected problem.

no nhs, the only reason is what i said in first msg. Unsure if im 5 weeks or 9 weeks and the gp said she;d rather send me for a scan early and find im only 5 weeks then wait for the 12 week scan and find im 16 weeks. I want to know aswell. couldnt wait until 12 weeks to find out how old baby is!
