Hard stomach

Since I was about 10 weeks I’ve been able to feel a ‘hard’ area where I assumed my uterus was. It’s expanded and since about 19 weeks most of my stomach was hard. Now at 24 weeks, my full stomach is so hard and tight, all day every day. It’s completely solid. The only time it’s softer is if I’m hunched up, but that’s uncomfortable. I’ve noticed today that the hardness is starting to expand out down my sides too. I’m panicking that there’s no where for the baby to grow if it’s already so taught!
when I’ve looked online people say their stomach is still soft at this point - should I be worried? What might be causing this?

A hopeful bump to ask about what other people’s bumps were like at 24 weeks?

im a bit overweight and I don’t know if that matters?
I’ll speak to my midwife at my next apt anyway

It's your uterus.

Sometimes you retain a lot of water in pregnancy. I gained about 40lbs and was nearly having kittens but it was mostly water and I lost it all in 2 weeks

It's your uterus.

From my pelvis to my ribs, and all around the sides of my torso?
what I’m saying is that everyone around me and in my nct classes or on threads I’ve read here say their stomach was/is still soft at this point. And that it didn’t go harder until much later, if mines already hard and it feels like the skin is pulled super tight it hurts, I dunno how much bigger I can get!

@toomanyleggings thanks maybe it is just water and bloating, it just seems to be spreading!

I could have written this myself lol... mine can be rock hard for days on end and like yourself I've said a few times now "I don't know how I'm going to stretch much bigger" like it genuinly feels asif it's going to rip open sometimes... although I know it won't because i had one 6 years ago and my belly didn't rip 😆 I'm 26 weeks on Sunday and I noticed the past few days it seems to be softening a little, but does still flare now and again, I think it's bloating along with baby... it really is a weird feeling! X

Thank you! It’s good to know I’m not the only one at least.
mine is hard every single day, you can see all my veins around the most stretched parts too! I don’t even think my bump is particularly large at this point but we’ll see. I’ll ask my midwife on Friday too, see if she agrees it’s bloating.
