hamster bit my finger (im 15 weeks pg) so went to the docs this am

but docs couldnt find my old records to see if i had my testnus jab (sp?) (ive been at this docs for 6 yrs) i cant remember if i had one but does eveyone get one when in high school???

docs said if it was outside and somewhere dirty...yes he would've of gave me the jab

I didn't know you could get Tetnus from a hamster bite though...! I am sure you'll be fine x

I didnt think you needed tetanus jab from a hamster..

They don't give tetanus shots for hamster bites. Mainly, I think because they only eat nuts & seeds. Dogs are scavengers & carnivores so their saliva has more bugs in it.
Just stick some savlon or germolene on the bite & put a plaster on for a couple of days

Blue - i just had to check my records for an insurance claim and they copies dating back over 30 years to my childhood - we are all being tracked!!!

Really? I just read my post and what I had meant to say is "I am surprised they CAN'T check your records back before 6 years!" woopsie!!!

BIGLIPS - i got bitten by a field mouse (which I spent ages rescuing form my cat) when 8 months pg but my Dr said they don't bother with anti-tetanus if you have had an innoculation when younger as they assume you are resistant. If you are over 30 the likelihood is that you will have had it when younger.

Just keep it clean and antiseptic cream and you'll be fine.
