But.

I wondered how many pregnant women here had a very late positive on a test?

I am now 6 days overdue with my period. This is a unique situation for me as I cannot remember a time in my adult life where I have been more than a day late.

I am just about convincing myself that after 4 tests (all done after my period was due) I am not pregnant but am (probably stupidly) clinging on to the fact that I may be but just have not had a surge of hormones yet.

My cycle is a very regular 24 days long, but last month I did have a longer than usual period.

Anyway - my basic question is how lonog did it take for you to get a positive after you had missed a period?

It took me 5 days to get a very very faint line I then did another test 10 days after and got a stronger line. Fingers crossed for you.

I think NatalieJane on the "Wagon" thread was something like 9 days!!

beaniesteve · 25/03/2008 10:57

thank you
Been to the docs and she says to wait.

My work mate says I shouldn't be counting myself as 6 days overdue but 2 as my cycle is only 24 days and I should be doing counting it as a 28 day cycle...

weren't you carrying out OPKs? Do you have an idea of when you ovulated?

Stress can delay ovulation and therefore your period.

beaniesteve · 25/03/2008 11:16

I did use OV tests but only detected a slight line on about day 18 of my cycle.

I know I ovulated on day 16 the month before so maybe I did ovulate lateis in my cycle.

I feel a bit embarrassed going on and on about it. I'll shut up now

No need to be embarrassed about being a "stressed TTCer". I'm a graduate myself. I would echo that if you ovulated on day 18, that you might still get a BFN on day 30 (that's where you are now, right?).

NatalieJane · 25/03/2008 11:38

I was going to come bounding in with my hand up in the air shouting "Me me me, I was 9 days late before I got a BFP", but Teuch beat me to it...

Good luck though Bean

yes - day 30 I think.

Ah well - I live in hope. Thanks guys.
