Periods in pregnancy

Hello
I know this look just like wishing myself pregnant but I have just finished a period that 3.5 days long and very very light like one day I used one sanitary towel. I am normally on 6 days and 4 days heavy having to wear two night towels at night.
I was two days overdue too and actually did a pregnancy test at lunch time on the 2nd day and a very fine line came up. I came on here and someone said it was prob an evaporation line, that evening my period started. No pain or cramps at all when normally I do.

I have promised myself only to but digital tests from now on!

Anyway, 3.5 days later I have finished and now I am wondering if whether
a - I had an early
b - I am pregnant
c - just an odd light period

Probably just wishful thinking but interested to hear what you think.

Digital tests are expensive so I dont want to go buy one if you all think i'm mad.

I had a period with both my pregnancies.
get another test, just so you know for sure

MiMao, go to your GP and they can take blood to test your HCG levels (or they may refer you to an early pregnancy unit). 2 weeks ago I got a + test result, but because I had had bleeding at the time of my period I was referred to EPU. Sadly it turns out I've had an early miscarriage, although HPT's were still showing positive because HCG was still in my body(although levels are now slowly dropping)I really hope it's a positive outcome and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

I had a very faint line showing with the 1st pregnancy test so i took another one, a digital test this time 3 days later, it said negative. when my period still hadn't come a few days later I took another test and the line showed up stronger so i went to the docs for a test and it turns out i am preggers! So for the record i don't necessarily think that the digital ones are the best as mine was wrong and it even said that it could tell if i was preggers three days before my period was due, also the results on the little window only last for a day because it is battery powered and if you are sentimental like i am then its no good. i still have the 3 tests i took, the ones with the faint lines which will be there forever and the 'blank' digital one. some women do get light spotting called implantation bleeding when they are pregnant so good luck and i hope the results are what you hoped for

Hello

Ah so digital are not always best.

I feel silly going to gp especially if it is neg - a few years back i thought I was pregnant and he just told me to go but a test and said that they don't give you wrong results but we all know otherwise.

I think I might just buy a test and see because if I am then I would be five weeks so surely it would show right?

... i need to know one way or other. I had very stressful day today so had glass of wine and feel very guilty so I need to fond out one way or other. In early pregnancy I normally avoid even drinking tea!

This site is great because I would never say this stuff to anyone, I would feel so stupid.

Hello again

Can I just ask you ladies who had a period during pregnancy if it was like a normal period bit just lighter? Did it last we a few days? Or was it just spotting?

I don't think the digital tests are as sensitive as some of the others. If you have access to a Poundland shop, they sell a pack of three for a quid - Sensatest they're called. They are basic strips but they do the job

I had what I thought was a full period over new year. lasted 4 days, and a bit like a tap turning on and then off - no starting up slowly or reduction in flow at the end, but as I have not been regular since coming off the jab, I thought it was normal - normal being 5 - 6 days. And New Year meant that I wasn't really taking any notice.

Anyway, 5 - 6 weeks later, a girl at work asks me in front of a room of other people - could you be pregnant as you are looking all glowy!!

Well, I was a few days (weeks!) late and hadn;t even thought about it. 4 days later took a test and very pregnant!

However, we all know what you need to do to get pg, and that hadn't happened since before my new year bleed, and the mw agreed, I've added about 2/3 weeks to my "date" since then (going for scan tomorrow so should be confirmed).

Hello

On the Tuesday I did the other clear blue test that was in the pack and it was a clear negative.

Think I will go see GP next week, I am so tired right now. For the last two weeks I feel absolutely shattered every day and feel faint at times. I am very emotional and getting stressed at the slightest thing. The tests say I am not pregnant so I don't know why I feel like this. If I was pregnant then it would all make sense but because i'm not its worrying me. Two people today commented on how tired I looked and sounded.

Happynewmum2be - congratulations! That must of been a surprise, have you had your scan so how far are you?
