Co-codamol/codeine during pregnancy

Hi,
I have never posted on something like this but would love some insights/advice/experiences. I am in my mid first trimester and my doctor has prescribed cocodamol for some moderate/severe pain. Iv been reading a lot of info re codeine and pregnancy and it’s very vague. I’m naturally anxious and would just like any experience from anyone who has taken codeine (it’s would be long term the way things stand) whilst pregnant and subsequently given birth. Or those currently pregnant and taking these.
thanks in advance!

Hey hun, I was prescribed it for migraines in first trimester and took it for a week or so then occasionally. Was told by midwife at hospital and doctors it was fine

I'm 26 weeks today and have taken 1 codeine daily during my pregnancy. My rheumatologist has told my GP to prescribe it as I have 3 conditions which cause chronic pain and the benefit to me of taking it outweighs the risk to baby.

Rheumy said it's safer for me than paracetamol as that can increase baby's asthma risk (I have difficult to control asthma). I'm allergic to ibuprofen and as an asthmatic, I can't take aspirin. So that just left codeine for pain relief.

I've seen two obstetricians and 3 midwives so far and they've all been happy with the meds I'm on.

So far, everything is progressing as it should with the pregnancy.
