How did you KNOW you were pregnant?

What were some of the early symptoms or unusual symptoms that made you think 'I better get a test.'

I remember my boobs being sore and hard one morning, which isn't unusual depending on my cycle, but it was the severe womb cramping after orgasm that alerted me that something was up.

I guess also if I’d never taken a test, I would have known naturally a bit further along as for some reason I was cursed or blessed (depends which way you want to look at it) with waking up having spontaneous orgasms 😂 mortifying experience to be honest but also enjoyable

I was out for a run and felt a bit queasy after about 15 minutes so had to walk back. Took a test straight away and it was positive.
I thought I was out as I never got a positive ovulation test that month so was a big surprise...even moreso when I'd also just been offered a new job 3 days earlier!

With my first, immense nausea before my period was even due.

With my second, colleague sat next to me opened a bag of popcorn and wave of nausea. Again before period was due.

We'd been actively trying for nearly a year and I wouldn't have known if I hadn't tested. It was two days before my period but I had plans to go out for the works Christmas party so I tested 'just in case' so I could drink without care! After 11 months of not even a squinter I was pretty stunned. It was probably my most phantom symptom free two week wait. Only thing of note in the first few days of finding out was being unusually thirsty.

Just felt different. Softer. Sore boobs, nearly fainted having a shower, could feel fluttering or something going on very early on. Had to do three or four tests before a positive one with DD1, as I didn't know it's best to test first thing in the morning, plus was testing pretty early on. And probably used the wrong type at first.

Ravenous for carbs

Had no idea both times, until I realised that AF hadn't shown up for a few weeks.

for me it was randomly waking up in the middle of the night & it wasn't for the toilet either 🤷‍♀️

For me it was when I walked into Tesco and had to turn around and walk straight back out again because the whole place smelled horrific to me! Literally couldn’t stay in there.

First time I had really intense period like cramping for about a week but no period.

Second time I had zero symptoms.

Third time I had very vivid dreams but no other symptoms until about 7 weeks onwards.

1st - same as the OP I had cervix cramping after orgasms before my period was due, which was a pretty concrete sign. I also had a couple of fleeting waves of nausea before my period was due.

2nd, which turned into a chemical pregnancy, I was in floods of tears while attempting to read the Railway Children to my daughter. I also got a small amount of implantation bleeding.

sore boobs, apples smelt weird and couldn't stand the taste of garlic!

Period didn't happen even though I knew I'd ovulated. So then went and got a test.

My pee smelt really strong

I was painting a room and gagging from the smell. I’d bought expensive wallpaper to make a beautiful guest room and thought I’d better take a test just in case before I open the wallpaper. Needless to say it was taken back!! We’d been trying for 7 years so you can imagine the shock. Then hyperemesis hit me like a brick wall so never any doubt then.

1st - I had no idea until a week after missed period. But in hindsight I was exhausted.

2nd - frequent weeing between 7-10 dpo, 13 dpo had intense cramping so I took a test and it came up 2-3

First time - I had no idea but did a test because I was going to a wedding and wanted to know if I was OK to drink. Second time - felt insanely tired. DH suggested I do a test and there it was.

I knew I was pregnant when I picked runner beans from the garden and ate them for breakfast at 8am.

First one I was in denial as we seemed to have been having fertility treatment for ages & I just didn't believe it would ever happen. I remember when I found out though I realised my heart rate had been significantly up from about 10 days after treatment 🤔

When we tried again 5 years later my change of conceiving was very low for various reasons. One morning about 10 days after treatment on the first attempt I woke & my heart was pounding out of my chest again. No other symptoms, I wasn't ill or anything else. Just laid restful in bed, heart pounding. It's hard to describe & probably sounds ridiculous but it wasn't the sort of heart pounding you get with stress, or aerobic exercise, or illness. It was a specific increased heart rate that I recognised from the same very early stage of pregnancy.

I rang the fertility clinic & told them I was pregnant. They didn't believe me & kept telling me to wait & test. I went ahead & tested, it was positive. They told me it could be a false result as it was so early, to wait & test again. This went on for a few days with me testing positive daily (heart rate still going mental) until I told them I wasn't giving any more money to Clearblue 😀

Increased heart rate number 1 is now sixteen, increased heart rate number 2 is now eleven.

I was absolutely exhausted and kept getting period cramps without a period

Sensitive nipples and I didn’t feel very well.

Went off wine, thought it tasted odd.
Was feeling great through a P90X challenge until I got home and my brain went "nope not doing that".
Strong positive the next morning when AF was due.

Massive blue veins in my boobs before the weird taste in mouth.
