Waters breaking?? Dribbles??

Hey guys,

just wondering if waters starting to leak can be like dribbles .. underwear is quite wet but definitely no gush but it smells very like sperm (sorry) second baby but waters were broken during induction last time

You need to call triage and go in. It could be, but nobody can diagnose you on here.

Yes that could be your waters, they don't always go with a gush. Often it is just trickles, I would contact your midwife:)

Happened this way for me both times. The 2nd time was at 35 weeks and the hospital midwife was adamant it was impossible. If I hadn't had the same before I would have beleived her and gone home. I insisted she checked and I was right. DS was born very quickly so a good job I did.

Yep! I thought I was a bit sweaty down there as it was summer but it was my waters leaking

Yes, can be trickles. Call your maternity unit.

Yes, I had a small initial internal pop and gush with a mucus plug but then just leaking all day to the extent that I put a massive bath towel underneath me as I wasn't going to waste maternity pads at home.

I had no prior contractions, just that water breaking and 3 hours later I went into hospital to have it checked and she sniffed the maternity pad to my horror. Definitely waters and not peeing. Still no contractions at that point.

Thanks so much guys good to know I didn’t know if I was leaking urine but the smell is very sperm like . Will ring my consultant and get checked! I’m 38+1 so term 😃

This happened to me with my first birth. The hospital didn’t believe me and in the end i managed to collect some of the liquid in a bottle to show the doctor!
