Urgent help needed please - ovulating but might have retained products

Hi. I'm looking for some urgent help please.

I had a loss in January. Had retained products that they thought they removed on Feb 6th. Had a scan a week later and there was still something there. They weren't sure if it was blood or tissue but there was vascularity. I haven't had a negative test yet but they are squinters, definitely have to look closely to see but I'm ovulating now. Clearblue test has been negative until today.

The hospital said that retained tissue would stop you getting pregnant but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of this? She said it wasn't unsafe but that if it was there your lining just isn't ready.

Has anyone got pregnant with retained tissue?

All bleeding has stopped, no retained tissue symptoms. I've had strong antibiotics to make sure there's no risk of infection but wondering if i can even get pregnant with retained tissue.

Strangely pregnancy test is slightly darker today, otherwise has been barely visible and ovulation strips getting darker across the last few days .

Help me please!!!

I would wait another cycle before attempting pregnancy to prevent further potential loss. After my D&C they advised 3 months, I didn’t listen, but my 3 periods after that d&c were horrific and clearly needed as I conceived the fourth cycle. If there is a chance of retained product, there’s a higher chance of inflammation which is not good for conception. If you get pregnant and don’t have a period, that retained product will surely remain, and give you an increased chance of complications.

@Ems1992 time isn't in my side unfortunately. I've had a loss before and was told to get on with it and not wait (on account of my age). Thanks so much for responding.

The consultant said that people do go on to have healthy pregnancies even with retained tissue so I'm just looking for advice on that.

Thanks for getting back to me xx

Ovulation tests pick up the hCG sonif you're still getting positive hCG tests (even squinters) then the ovulation tests will be positive too

@siobhanmt247 thank you for your reply. It's not picking up HCG, it's a steady increase on ovulation strips (had been negative) and then positive today on clear blue (it had been negative on clearblue so it's definitely my ovulation).

My HCG is under 25 - had been tested at hospital on the 12th.
