Gestational diabetes?

Hi. I'm currently 20 weeks and after a glucose test the diabetic midwives have had me monitoring my sugar levels since Monday. I was told my levels weren't in range for diabetes but were a concern for pre diabetes? All have been within a normal range other than today.
I don't normally do before meal readings but twice today I've felt sick and started shaking and feeling weak so out of curiosity both times I tested my levels. Both times they came back low with a high reading after lunch. I'm waiting for a call back from the diabetic midwives but until then does this look anything like the start of gestational diabetes?

I can't remember my readings but your symptoms sound very much like gestational diabetes. They won't hang about to contact you and do more tests. It's treated seriously and swiftly. I was having twins and it's more common with multiples and I found it quite hard to control even though I was injecting. The good news is it disappears as soon as you've given birth. Good luck with it all OP and take care.

I currently have this and the 8.2 reading seems like it. I don’t actually know what “normal” readings look like so I have nothing to compare it to but my understanding is that our bodies are not able to regulate our blood sugars for us which gives the up and down readings.

They will probably be in touch and give you some sort of consultation and tips etc. they will advise you on how to monitor it with diet or if meds are needed. I’m currently monitoring mine with a strict diet.

Yeh I'd also say it looks like GD. It depends on your trust guidelines but anything above 7 post meal is GD.

I just had a phone call and I misheard what they told me the first time I called. My sugar levels didn't rise after the glucose test they actually dropped from 4.3ish to 2.2. They're calling it possible reactive hypoglycaemia. I need another week of monitoring before they decide to refer to Endocrine
