Cervix length! 32mm

Hello everyone,

I had my 20 week scan 2 weeks ago and from the abdominal ultrasound they said my cervix was 42mm, I had another scan last night and a vaginal ultrasound- they’ve said my cervix is 32mm and I’m 22 weeks..

im still taking progesterone (prescribed it for recurrent miscarriage) which I was supposed to stop at 16 weeks but I’ve cut down to one a day instead of 2… I’m worried when I stop this will cause my cervix to shorten and then end up in pre term labour.

does anyone have some advice please?

thank you xx

Hi, I'm in a similar position.

Scan at 16 weeks said cervix length was 27mm, started progesterone and at 19 week scan it was measured at 40mm.
Was told I could stop taking progesterone then, but as I felt I was actively doing something to help I was prescribed another 6 weeks.

Scan yesterday at 23 weeks said 34mm, and that I could be discharged from pre-term clinic as all looks good. I'm going to continue taking the progesterone until it runs out, I don't think it does any harm?

Thank you for replying, I’ve researched so much and progesterone doesn’t effect baby- it’s mostly natural and your body disposes what it doesn’t need.
it’s reassuring to know the specialist has said yours is ok!

were they all done vaginally? X
