Okay so let me start by telling you I'm posting for my closest friend & we both are a little confused about the situation & any advice would be amazing 🙏🏻

So she found out she is pregnant on the 4th of January , then decided to do a clear blue digital test to get a rough idea of how far along she may be. The test came back positive & 3+ weeks ...amazing!
So after looking on the clearblue website it states 3+ weeks is equivalent to 5+ pregnant.

Now this is why we are confused because she went for her first scan on the 1st of February ...4 weeks after the positive test & they said she was too early to see anything on the scan. There was a sac and a yolk but nothing else to be seen.

By our working out she should of been roughly 9 weeks?

Please any advice would really help ! Thank you!

There’s a few options.
But most likely that the clear blue was wrong (completely possible, especially if she is pregnant with multiples) or unfortunately it is a miscarriage

when was her LMP? Does she know when she ovulated?

Thanks for the replies! She has said her period never really showed up in December & was just a very light period in November but can't really remember what the dates were 🤷🏻‍♀️

If they’re usually regular and she missed one and had one that was unusually light, I’d probably either wait a week and rescan, and hope that the dates were wrong (if she is wanting to be pregnant) or id go to the drs and ask for some blood tests and checks to see what’s happening

She's usually regular yeah 🤷🏻‍♀️ she had a rescan in a weeks time to check again so fingers crossed!
Really hoping it's not a missed miscarriage or anything bad 😔🙏🏻

There could be a totally reasonable explanation, like she just missed a period, which can happen occasionally, and she ovulated later than expected meaning she’s early on and nothing was visible yet. Fingers crossed for her.

The earliest you’d get a positive is around 3-4 weeks pregnant (1-2 weeks after conception). So the very earliest she could have been at her scan was 7 weeks pregnant, you would expect to see a heartbeat at that point. Unfortunately it doesn’t sound as though it is a viable pregnancy.

This is the thought process we've been on. Keeping some hope for the scan on Monday 🤞🏻 thank you for your reply

Has anyone experienced cramping/pulling pains at around 4 weeks? I got a positive really early 3+3 so I’m freaking out about chances ectopic or loss. 🙈 I can’t remember anything like this with my son.

CaribouCarafe · 10/02/2024 17:49

@MrsFruitie not sure when my pulling pains began but it was pretty early on (possibly around week 5-6), am now 15 weeks pregnant with no bleeding or issues - fingers crossed your pregnancy goes well!

3soon2be4 · 12/02/2024 17:34

Update: she went for a scan today they said still to early to really tell , they've said maybe 6 weeks but no heartbeat to be seen so weekly scans until they know whether baby is growing or not

Ah that's a shame, it doesn't sound promising but fingers crossed it ends up being a viable pregnancy for her
