I was told at 20 week scan we had a 95% change of a girl and then last week I had a growth scan at 35 weeks and she showed me the 'hamburger' shape which was her labia...so I'm pretty convinced that's what I'm having now! I'll let you know if they are wrong though!

Oh good, it's looking promising then.

I think i 'might' start thinking about boys names too just incase.
(Or do as they do in Greece and just call it baby for a few weeks)

got both right - but lets face it - 50-50 chance of getting it right.

dd1 - said definitely as she was in a good position and no boy parts visible.

dd2 - not so optimum position but still said it looked like a girl - from what the sonographer could see.

old wives tales got it wrong for me - all 'signs' were that dd2 would be a boy!!

we saw the hamburger shape too and she was a girl

We were told we were having a girl and we were. The sonographer was 95% sure. TBH we were shown here private parts on the screen and you could really tell she was a girl. Would have been worried if they had said dd was a boy

Think there is a notice in the waiting room at St George's saying, "Though our sonographers....blah blah blah". Basically says they may get it wrong, like a disclaimer. may have dreamt that though .

when pregnant with my ds i was told at my 20 week scan that i was expecting a girl! Went out and got girly clothes and called my bump jessica for 3 weeks. Had another scan at 23 weeks (prob with stomach!) and the same person who scanned before apologised and said it was definatly a boy! Was so cross, had my heart set on a girl! Never mind, ds is fabulous! Not gonna bother finding out this time round!

fisilhohoho · 24/12/2004 21:54

We weren't told that this one is a boy - the sonographer asked us at the 21 week scan if we wanted to know, we said yes, so he did the up and under shot and then said "there you go, that makes it easy, doesn't it?" So I guess that we will be fairly surprised if this one pops out a girl! I didn't even see the willy (dp did), he just had unfeasibly large testicles!
