Early scan

Hello all just wandering if anyone in my situation. I had a scan thinking I was 6 weeks but I think I ovulated late. First scan was more five weeks saw a yolk sac and gestational sac . EPAU saw me 3 days later and we saw a fetal pole however no heartbeat detected baby was only 2.9 mm so midwife said this was normal. Back next week to check for heartbeat. Just hoping I was to early rather then the other. Anyone experienced this ?

When I booked a private scan at 5w they actually called me and advised that if I was happy to wait an additional couple weeks they recommended having a scan at 7w because the changes of seeing the heartbeat were far higher. So could be early. If midwife has said it is normal though then it likely will be! Hope the scan next week goes ok.

It’s best not to have a scan until at least 7 weeks for this reason, unless you have pain or bleeding. I’m waiting until after 7 weeks. You can only wait and see. I never had a scan the first pregnancy and had a loss at 11 weeks, weirdly it made it easier as I never got the false hope I think scans can give.

Hey all so good news I went back 12 days and their was a baby and heartbeat on the screen could not believe the change. I defiantly booked private scan to early but no thought I was further along. I thought 7 weeks turns out I implanted super late . My periods are so irregular. Only sad part to the day is that I did find out I was carrying twins. They could only see one fetal pole. I never lose hope and will now wait to the 12 week scan xx

@holliemh oh wow fingers crossed for 2 little beans for u. Did they say how far along u was at 2nd scan? Was u what u thought it was u behind x

Yeah so basically I implanted like the last possible day so I'm only 6 weeks meaning first scan I was way to early. I've seen one baby with a heartbeat so I'm super grateful. But you never know at 12 week scan there could be two and what a blessing that be xx
