Spotting after subchorionic hematoma - normal?

I had a big bleed at 12 weeks and thought we had lost the baby, but it ended up beimg due to a Subchorionic hematoma. Spotted lightly for around 4-5 days afterwards and then all seemed to return to normal - no more bleeding, spotting etc and baby was all ok

Now, a week later and I have quite a large amount of brown discharge, just wondering if I need to worry and whether it could be still due to the hematoma or if it may be something else? I had an ultrasound on Monday where everything looked good but the sonographer was quite forceful and pushing quite hard compared to usual. Could this have irritated something?

Approx 14 weeks today

Thanks ♥️

I’m dealing with bleeding in the pregnancy as well due to low placenta tho. Had a massive bleed at 12w and another one at 16w. In both instances my spotting is coming and going. But I noticed after every ultrasound I will have an increased amount of brown discharge and also after going to the loo in the morning for second business (sorry tmi). I think it’s quite normal. I mentioned that to my consultant and she wasn’t worried at all tbh

I had exactly the same as you except my big bleed happened at 14+4 weeks, spotted like you for a few days after the bleed then nothing then a load of brown spotting/blood that lasted for maybe 5 days, it got lighter on the 3rd/4th day before stopping.
The midwives seemed unconcerned and they said it was likely just old blood left over from the hematoma that has just made it's way out and not to worry unless it was a bright red bleed again. I also had a scan while brown spotting that had been booked in prior to find out gender and that was all fine.

I also cramped the days I was spotting brown blood. I noticed mine increased after long walks and think that had been what initially shifted the extra bit of brown blood out but guess it could be any type of movement or pressure so could well have been shifted by the scan. I read lots of other blogs/forum posts of mum's with SCH and the stop start spotting seems really common.

I'd try not to worry and take it easy while the spotting continues and hopefully it eases off in a few days, if you get anxious you could always ring your EPU! ❤️
