Blighted ovum and increase of hcg

Hi everyone, just for background info I had a scan at 6+3 and showed gestational sac only, no yolk or fetal pole. I have to go back next week as they suspect blighted ovum (where nothing grows inside the gestational sac).

Since then I have had increase in pregnancy symptoms including starting to feel sick.

Is this normal to get an increase in pregnancy symptoms, or should my symptoms be fading now? It is giving me hope which I think might be false.

Thank you.

Yes as your HCG levels will still be rising to support a growing gestational sac. It’s very cruel… I had blighted ovum and the gestational sac continued to grow and I didn’t naturally miscarriage so had to have a surgical at what would have been 11 weeks. I felt sick throughout. So sorry it’s such an awful thing to happen x

Massive hugs as this is a horrible thing to go through. I had an empty sack at 6 weeks which kept growing until 9 weeks with increasing HCG. I miscarried naturally at just over 9 weeks so didn't need an intervention.
To add a glimmer of positivity I did get pregnant the next time we tried (IVF) and am currently 21 weeks. Exactly the same happened to my sister in law aswell apparently it is a positive sign that your body can support a growing pregnancy as in the vast majority of cases the miscarriage is due to significant issues with the embryo.
No consolation right now though I'm sure and I'm really sorry you are going through this xx
