Backache at 5 Weeks

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had backache at 5 weeks it kinda feels like similar back pain to when you get a period. I've had this since before finding out I was pregnant however today it just seems to be more noticeable, I wouldn't say it's painful just an uncomfortable ache.

Just worried due to a previous miscarriage so my anxiety is through the roof atm 😞

Hi. No advice but I'm having this too. It's almost like a dull stabbing pain in my lower back. I've never had it around period but I'm 8w2 now. Hopefully someone comes and reassures us soon!

@siobhanmt247

Me too it's just like a dull ache like I'm not in agony but I do notice it it scares the life out of me but from what I've ready apparently it's all the stretching and the ligaments becoming relaxed which therefore puts more strain on your back!

I'm such a worrier 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Hey girls. I’m now 17 weeks but I had this from the start too. Infact the reason I tested is because I had period like pains but didn’t come on. I think it’s where your body is preparing to stretch etc. Speak to your GP but I’m pretty sure it’s normal.

Jadelr · 07/02/2024 19:13

@AimeeLou84 Thankyou for replying! That's why I tested too as I had a missed period but still had all the usual backache/cramps so I suppose it's nothing new for me I just wondered how long into pregnancy it lasts but I've read some women have had full back ache the whole way through!

If it gets any worse I'll speak to my GP x

Yes so my backache has kind of slowed down since I hit 2nd trimester. Good luck and congratulations x

Jadelr · 07/02/2024 19:22

@AimeeLou84 aw I'm pleased! I just get so scared over the slightest thing, i think it's because it's so similar to period backache 😂 Thankyou! Congratulations to you too x

Nice to see its normal. I've got standard period cramps now :(

Jadelr · 07/02/2024 19:23

@siobhanmt247 where are your cramps? I don't have cramps so to speak it's just a dull backache similar to one you'd get on your period kinda thing

@Jadelr they were lower back but now I've got the same sort of pain in the front of my pelvis

Jadelr · 07/02/2024 19:42

@siobhanmt247 I think aslong as you're not in agony and there's no bleeding I would class that as normal however ring your GP for peace of mind or EPU if the pain gets unbearable x

I had period type pain with DD1 up to about 10 wks. Was told if not servere and no bleeding then it's not much of a concern. It can just be your ligaments and muscles getting stretched by the growing pregnancy

Hi ladies, I'm 5 weeks myself and getting similar pains to what you've described, it's so hard to know what I should be concerned with and what might be consider routine pregnancy symptoms. I hope you're all doing well and the symptoms subsided?😊

Jadelr · 05/06/2024 13:45

@AprilShowers2021 Hey, I soon came to realise that these pains were very normal and seemed to be baby just settling in I had backache and cramps from 5 weeks to around 13-14 weeks not constantly but I definitely had them until around then. I was so panicked the whole time thinking they aren’t normal but for me they were and I’m now 23 weeks ☺️ best of luck
