Cant stop eating

Just as the title says... I cannot stop eating. I'm nearing my 12 weeks and I am hungry all the time. Even straight after I've eaten.

I'm healthy, exercise 2-4 times a week, run after toddler and work FT but I cannot feel 'full'. I did have this a little with my first pregnancy but no where near as bad... todays diet has been...

Slice of toast
Banana

Gym
Protein shake

3 poached eggs and 2 slices of toast

Crackers and hummus

Homemade spaghetti bolognaise (my portion and a half, went back for seconds)

And now I'm hungry again. I know I'm not exceeding calories massively but I literally cannot fill this pit 😂😂

Any suggestions or is anyone else feeling this way? I feel like I could eat on behalf of a family of 5 right now... 🐷🐖

Drink more water?

TallulahTaboo · 06/02/2024 18:44

Sorry should say, I drink over a litre a day alongside a coffee and/or the odd Coke Zero too!

Keep snacking up with fruits & nuts & veg see if that helps & increase your water/fluid intake 2/3 litres a day. Wouldn’t worry about it your body clearly needs it. I found things levelled out second trimester and then now third trimester I have hungry days

@snoopy18 nuts are probably a good idea. Loads of veg in the bolognaise so definitely getting my five a day but I could definitely add in more fruit too.

Will try that, thank you ☺️

Same and honestly your food intake doesn’t sound that much to me, ha! I’m a few weeks behind you and the hunger usually predates many weeks of sickness for me, so I think of it as my body compensating for a lack of food in weeks to come. Also, your body is making essential baby components in the first trimester – it needs the calories to do that. See also why a lot of women are exhausted at this time!

In you're exercising 4 times a week and pregnant that's probably not enough calories or enough protein. Maybe use an online BMR calculator to double check but I would try and not worry about how much your eating and eat when you're hungry. Trust your body, it knows what it's doing. X

@AtLeastThreeDrinks @Pllystyrene both very valid points so thank you 🤍 trying to make good snacking choices and hoping I'll find something that makes me feel 'full'.

Off to have another snack before bed 🐷
