First FET - 38 years old at the start of IUI/IVF

Hi

So currently doing down the IVF route after three failed IUI as a single person, my AMH levels was good - just not had the chance to try with a partner.

First IVF ended with 19 eggs collected, 16 fertilised and 14 reached day 5blastocyst so currently have 14 in the freezer with 1 4AA, 5 4BB 3 3BB and rest BC grading. My scan last Monday went well with a lining of 8.4mm and currently on 8mg Progrnova and 3 times a day 400mg Cyclogest.

Tomorrow is my first FET as I wasn't able to do a FT and just wondering what to expect and any advice? I have been told I have a 45/50% chance.

Your chances are good even if this transfer doesn't take. Try not to get too bogged down waiting to do the pregnancy test, it's stressful but there is not much you can do to influence it now

I'm 38 and I transferred two embryos as both were very low quality. A 5bc and 3cc and I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant

Ohh wow congratulations - my transfer is tomorrow and it’s my first one so feeling little nervous compared to the IUI..

the clinic have put there prices so means I have less FET due to the IVF pot running low 😩

Thank you, exactly what my mum says - I hate the TWW (feels like it goes on forever)

I am just over 2 weeks ahead of you, also went for IVF as a single person.

The embryo transfer is very quick, just uncomfortable with the full bladder. Day of transfer I felt fine then I started to feel implantation cramps and had slight nausea days 1-3. Days 4-6 post transfer the cramps eased up but the nausea and headaches kicked in again day 7+ days post transfer.

Advice would be to drink lots of water to help with headaches, walk for light exercise to get blood flowing and try not to test too early.

@LuxeBiscuit - I am guessing you got your BFP?

I struggle with the full bladder part as the IUI was semi full and my last IUI turned into chemical about a year ago this month..

noted with the walks and water - think my dog will be walked a lot 🤣… it’s so hard not to tear early 😱

I did get a BFP at 7DP5DT but then the obsession with testing takes over. I sort of wish I had just waited. OTD is tomorrow.

The full bladder was uncomfortable but it wasn't for long and they let you pee straight after.

Fingers crossed for you.

@LuxeBiscuit congratulations on your positive result..

FET went ok, little discomfort but all good.. feeling slightly deflated as I had to have a progesterone blood test at its slightly lower then clinic wanted to have to take progesterone oil injections tonight but I feel like it’s to late and the transfer just been a waste

@Claire5884 thank you!

other than a scan on day 10 I haven't had any other scans or tests so it's good that your clinic checked your blood levels.

I think progesterone gets to work quite quickly so hopefully your levels increase over the next couple of days ahead of implantation.
