How did the symptoms differ in your pregnancies?

So far, I'm less tired and my boobs haven't ballooned like last time but nausea started earlier.

DD1 could have slept all day every day, boobs started hurting at 8 weeks and grew rapidly, no other symptoms.

DD2 debilitating nausea from 6 weeks to 14 weeks, but no tiredness and boobs weren't sore and didn't grow as much

DD1 didn't show at all until around 19/20 weeks. Hideous headaches and would throw up everyday at 2pm until 12 weeks 🤷‍♀️ craved oranges and ready salted crisps. Late in 2nd trimester I had indigestion and carried Gaviscon everywhere. Needed to wee lots and had a stinking cold as earliest symptoms.

DC2 (16 weeks) so far extreme tiredness. I am napping every day even if I get 8/9hours at night. Small bump already. No sickness but i am still get nausea. I loathe hot all drinks and craving all the carbs and pure orange juice with bits in it. Earliest symptoms were still weeing lots and complete aversion to coffee but I put it down to stinking cold 😄

DS: also could have slept all day everyday and boobs were so sore and huge, had the scariest cramping which made me worry no end for the health of my pregnancy until 9 weeks when we had a scan. Nausea was intense but I'm not that far this time.

D?: Too early to know sex but I'm so relieved my nausea, tiredness and boobs are all at bay. I had a blood test because I thought perhaps the pregnancy wasn't progressing. But all seems fine.

Secretly hoping my boobs stay normal this pregnancy as they were too big last time.

I’ve found my two pregnancies have had similarities and differences.

DD had some mild morning (or rather evening) sickness. Developed palpitations and had to be seen by cardiology, and iron deficiency anaemia. Had pelvic girdle pain badly from 35 weeks and couldn’t walk up the stairs.
My waters broke at 38 weeks and I was induced 30 hours later as not progressing.

DS I had no morning/evening sickness but have had the most awful fatigue throughout. Developed iron deficiency anaemia again, in combination with B12 deficiency anaemia. Have had the palpitations again, with another referral to cardiology. Have had to have growth scans for too much amniotic fluid (thankfully now resolved) and about if I have late onset gestational diabetes. I’ve also had the pelvic girdle pain again, which was initially much worse and started before 20 weeks. Thankfully this has improved as opposed to worsened like my first pregnancy.
I’m now 39+4 and still pregnant.

Have needed bottles of Gaviscon for both of them! That much is the same!

Ds - literally nothing aside from being tired ect from about 30 weeks

Ds2 - currently 30 weeks. I had nausea until week 14. I am so tired. Can't stop going to the loo and feel like I'm about 37 weeks.

namechange58372 · 04/02/2024 17:18

DD - very sick including being sick, could barely eat anything and tired sleeping in all day until about 12 weeks

DS - felt sick but no way near as bad felt like I needed to eat all the time. Tired but able to stay awake lasted abit longer until 14/15 weeks

Warmhandscoldheart · 04/02/2024 17:30

DC 1 - morning and evening sickness. Addicted to cheese and onion crisps with fruit pastilles at the same time.
DC2 - heartburn only and addicted to yoghurt.

I was addicted to yogurt when I was pregnant with DS. Do you know what you're having? What was your first?

Did anyone notice difference in their boobs? That is the biggest different for me so far. May long it continue.

DC1 is a boy so I was convinced DC2 was a girl, both boys.
Best wishes for a safe and healthy pregnancy

First pregnancy: baby girl, zero symptoms other than a bump!

Second pregnancy: a boy, could hardly stay awake, very nauseous, vomiting, headaches, strong Braxton Hicks throughout, aching hips and sore back.

Mammma91 · 04/02/2024 19:20

DS1 - very sick. Nausea and sickness throughout, terrible indigestion, exhausted.

DS2- currently 30 weeks, still nauseous, have indigestion at night and I have been waking between 2am-4am since the start. Exhausted and very much ready to have this baby! I am done after number 2!

MrsB2019x · 04/02/2024 19:28

Strangely so far both of mine are very similar! I’m only 9+4 with DC2 though so there’s still time.

Constantly feeling hungover, exhausted, having really broken sleep at night and boobs are killing! Exactly the same as last time. Nausea started at 6 weeks with both. Vomiting started at 10 weeks with DD but I’m reeeeeally hoping I’ll avoid that this time!

sexnotgenders · 04/02/2024 19:32

My two pregnancies were absolutely identical - my symptoms were the same (and started/stopped during the same week/gestation), I had the same shape bump and even the exact same weight gain. I gave birth to a daughter, and then a son (28 months between them). I clearly do pregnancy one way and one way only, regardless of what I grow!
