How high a temperature is too high?

I'm in the very early stages of pregnancy (4 weeks) and have a sore throat and running a slight temperature. The gp told me I must keep my temperature down with paracetamol but I'm not quite sure what my temperature should be. Would it not be a bit higher than normal in early pregnancy anyway? Does anyone know what is a normal range and what is too high? I don't want to take the medicine unneccessarily.

Thanks...

it does depend on you personally. When I have a temperature I ache all over, and my fingers are very painful, and it's at that point I would take paracetamol.

Thanks for the quick reply - I've been checking temperature when I start feeling chilly and it's usually just above 37. But I don't know if I'm just being paranoid now.
