Badger notes

With my first baby I had hand held notes, this time around I have the badger app and I don't understand it at all. After scans I use to enjoy reading the findings of my scans in the notes. On the badger app I'm not sure you can? Or how do I find it?

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and they just said "yes all fine" and off I went. But I would like to read back on what was "fine" is there a section I'm missing where you can read the notes from the scan?

Ask your midwife to show you round the app. You’re supposed to be able to see what the midwives and doctors can see (although slightly different format). It may be that they haven’t uploaded the notes yet.

In what section can you see when the notes are uploaded?

@MissDolly95 I'm the same! It's my first pregnancy that had progressed beyond 12 weeks. I was going for more information and a report after my 20 week scan, I asked the sonographer when I left the scan abs she said it will be in badger notes. I noticed a new tab for ultrasound scans but the only information under the 20 week scan is the position of my placenta. I was hoping for growth measurements etc. My scan was 2 weeks ago and nothing further had been added.

Im the same. I wanted to see the graphs etc but the only info they have put on the scan section is something about placenta. The badger note system is awful. You just don’t get any info on there. My midwife says they should have uploaded it but they haven’t. It’s the same with appointments that come through. I get a time but no detail about what it is so I have to turn up abit blind.

Badger Notes is shit. All I have on there are my appointments and records of any tests I've had, but none of my test results or notes about what happened at my appointments. Pile of poo

But OP did you not get a print out of your scan findings? I did at both 12 and 20 weeks. Maybe ring the ultrasound department?

I also got very limited information, a few measurements and ‘normal’ under all findings. My appointments don’t even show up! It’s actually shite 🤣

No I didn't! I just presumed it would be uploaded to the app. I have a consultant appointment Monday so i think I'll ask for a print out then. Majority of the women with me have notes and im with that stupid app

No! Mine says no appointments, I get mine through the post

I only have limited info on badger but my midwives/doctors can see much more on it. Maybe it depends how they’ve set it up? I have been given a paper sheet with more details on it after each scan though.
I definitely prefer it to lugging my paper notes around with me though which I had to do in previous pregnancies.

It's such a terrible app! I don't get notifications for anything. But I have been able to find some notes from scans and appointments just by checking every section- for me, scan results are under Maternity Record then My Ultrasound Scans. I find they're uploaded a few hours after the scan.

I've just checked and the only thing they've updated is my gestation as I was a day ahead, that's it. It was updated today at 5pm

@MissDolly95 have you looked in this section? Rather than the ultrasound section? I have a wee run down of all my scans…still very little info but more then I saw in the untrasound bit! Not sure if everyone’s is different.

How did you get onto that bit? I'm starting to think I'm really slow here😂

@MissDolly95 No honestly it’s a shocking system and everyone’s seems to be different! It’s right down at the bottom of that highlighted section for me, like after the information about what books I’ve been given etc!

I don’t have that section. That’s annoying.

I found if I click on the bits that say antenatal assessment under antenatal care record there was a bit more information but agree I don't get as much information about scans as when I got a print out

No, I don't have those sections. I have everything but then 2 sections. How annoying

At my 20 week scan the sonographer asked me if I wanted a printed version of the notes because she said they wouldn't be uploaded to the app.

Nope, wasn't told that either. So I didn't ask, I just presumed it would be on the app. I'll know for next time. Thankfully I have a consultant appointment on Monday so I'll ask then and in my future growth scans

I would ask for them to print all the stuff off for you at your next appointment.

I moved from handwritten to Badger between my two children. While it was annoying not having anything available on Badger I'd found the handwritten ones 90% illegible anyway so it didn't really feel like I'd missed much!

Badger notes is absolute bollocks. It makes me so angry that the NHS spends money on it.

And if it wasn't bad enough on screen, you can't print from it, and the staff can't help you navigate it because their interface is totally different.

I was paper notes for DC1-3 & Badger for DC4&5. I prefer badger to paper notes- it does take a bit of navigating but our area have been using it for a while so maybe have it set up a bit better than yours is. My midwife speaks highly of it. The main plus is if you need to see/speak to someone different they have access to all your information either before you see them or while your on the phone ie I had blood results come back on the 1st Jan- midwife from another town phoned and knew all about me & exactly what had been discussed at last appointment re bloods.
Maybe i’m a bit more relaxed about info on scans as I only had a dating scan with DC1 & although I had growth scans with DC2 it was on an ancient scanner so didn’t have all the info you get now.
Genuine question i’ve never needed to print anything from it and can’t think why you would?
