Uterine irritability and positive partosure swab

Hi everyone

wondering if anyone has similar experience here. I’ve been told in all of my pregnancies that I have UI (which basically means I have contractions that are uncomfortable and close together for hours at a time before they stop). It’s different to false labour apparently but there is a risk that the contractions lead to real labour.

this pregnancy I’ve been admitted 3 times since 31 weeks. I’m now in week 36 and back in hospital. This time though I had a positive partosure swab.

does anyone have experience of these? In my last pregnancy I think they did fFn and not partosure, but it’s hard to find much out online about how accurate they are.

I’ve given birth near-preterm previously (only a few days before 37 weeks) so I know it’s right to be cautious, but it’s hard to know whether staying in hospital is the right thing to do. Everyone here keeps saying it’s kind of my choice, which doesn’t feel very helpful 😫

Updating in case anyone comes across this and wonders what happened next…

I stayed in, but yesterday marked 7 days since the positive swab so they’ve discharged me. I’m kind of glad because baby is still early but part of me feels very weird having psyched myself up for it and nothing happening. Going back to normal life now is strange.
