Feeling great in this pregnancy but felt awful with my DS

Hi all,

i’ve only had a bit of nausea till 9 weeks this pregnancy and have high energy now (more so now than i did before i got pregnant which is bizarre because i have a hyper 2.6yr old), im currently 13 weeks and had my 12 weeks scan last monday where everything was fine. Ive had no cravings or aversions whatsoever and honestly don’t feel pregnant apart from mild sore boobs. Im not complaining but it’s just so bizarre to me because i had such bad sickness till 14 weeks with my son and all the fatigue and aversions/cravings you can get.

Just curious to see how many others have experienced such different pregnancies like this and if they had different genders or the same? Im guessing its a girl this time because of how different i feel but you never really know till you know haha.

I have had four children (2 girls and 2 boys), and one on the way and only one pregnancy with no morning sickness in the whole lot (a boy).

I have a brand new theory about morning sickness now, based on an article I read recently: -

I think that perhaps it is that the only pregnancy I had no sickness with was because there was a very small gap from one pregnancy to the other (my daughter was 15 months when he was born), so maybe my body was used to this hormone that causes sickness. But it is only a theory.

This time round there is almost a 10 year gap with my last child, and the sickness was overwhelmingly horrible for 18 weeks!

Researchers have finally discovered the cause of morning sickness in pregnancy—and may be close to a cure

The culprit: a hormone that exists throughout the body in low levels, but is produced in the placenta at higher levels during pregnancy.

I'm the same, thinking boy because of how different it's been compared to my girl😅 with my girl I had extreme sickness and smell aversions to the point I was put on meal replacement shakes as I couldn't stomach any solid food, caused me to become anaemic and lasted until about 14 weeks, latwr diagnosed with gestational diabetes too. With this one however I've been able to eat as normal, minimal vomiting in comparison, although even thinking of the word "salad" made me feel very sick lol, mainly night nausea up until 16 weeks where it really started to ease and I felt almost normal. I also suffered extreme exhaustion which has subsided but pops up on the odd day... I'm 21 weeks now and feel good, no anaemia or diabetes as of yet🤞I'm actually not finding out this time whether boy or girl but my other halves cousin however had 2 very different pregnancies and 2 girls 😅 so my certainty for this baby being a boy is out the window lol

DS I had extreme hyperemesis (HG). Twin DDs I was sick but to a normal pregnancy extent. This current pregnancy I am hospitalized HG again so was convinced it’s another boy. NIPT confirmed it’s in fact a girl. So the sickness and symptoms told me nothing for the sex.

so basically morning sickness means nothing when it comes to gender then 😅 The only thing i’ve done differently this pregnancy is taken a pre natal supplement that has folate in instead of the synthetic version folic acid, don’t know if there’s any correlation but who knows 🤷‍♀️
@Rtmhwales i did a nipt test last tuesday and still waiting for the results, im DYING to find out what i’m having!! How long did it take for your results to come back to you? The two girls i’ve asked who’ve had a nipt in the past said it took 2 weeks for them 😭🤦‍♀️
