BBT has plunged below cover line at 5w5d - impending miscarriage? 📉

I was going to post that my temperature has dropped below the cover line today at 5w5d but I suppose if you look at the trend, it has been falling since the 16th Jan.

I read that a falling temp is due to a fall in progesterone; curiously mine is (or was a week ago) quite good: 75 on 15 Jan and 90 on 19 Jan.

Has anyone had a plummeting BBT at this stage and it not turn into miscarriage?

Mayba a one off spurious reading? It might be over it again tomorrow and you could disregard it.

I hope it is spurious, I hope you don't worry too much about it today Flowers

Sadly it is my birthday today and I am going out for dinner with around 15 friends and family. 😞

Literally everything I am reading online is saying that a drop is ok ‘as long as it doesn’t go below the cover line.’ Damn.

Thank you for your good wishes.

People who track their BBT or their resting heart rate can find a drop around 6 weeks. Hormone levels including progesterone can fluctuate a bit during the first trimester. It can be completely normal. Sadly things can go wrong even if your temperature stays high but I get that tracking (however much I would encourage you to stop) makes people feel like there's a bit of pre warning, reassurance and control.

I was taking my BBT out of scientific curiosity to see how IVF progesterone impacted it Vs how the embryo transfer did. I got the same post ovulation pattern I always got. And it did start to drop about weeks 5/6 and my rhr dropped at week 7 so I just stopped both and all is still fine at 16w.

Try not to worry and have a happy birthday!

I stopped tracking mine, as it went below cover line around the same time. Massive drop, I cried and convinced myself it was all over. I'm 14 weeks today, it was all fine. Stop tracking it, it is not accurate at all after you have a positive test and means nothing. If your are really worried book in for an early scan, that's what we did and it helped massively.

Theoretically you'd think so as it's progesterone that elevates bbt but that's not necessarily the case.
Pregnancy hormones can cause bbt to fluctuate all over the place.
My bbt fell below cover line in early pregnancy, then continued to rise and fall. There was no pattern and I'm 4 months

Thank you for the reassurances.

Hi. I’m exactly 6 weeks and for the past two days my levels have dropped. They are hovering just at the line dreading taking my temperature in the morning. Did your pregnancy continue to be a healthy one?
