Jeans extender? To turn jeans into maternity jeans

Hello,

I wondered if anyone can recommend one of those jeans extenders? I'm 17 weeks now, been wearing leggings for ages and thought I'd try my jeans on, they still fit everywhere but I can't zip them up! I don't want to buy maternity jeans at this point (my final pregnancy) do the extenders actually work?
Thanks for any advice!

I used a hair band between button and button hole. I also had a bump band that was kind of like a big stretchy band that went round your waist over the fly and button. There was a button and button hole to attach to the jeans. Worked until I had a really big bump.

Got the H&M one and it kinda worked, but I was quite conscious of it popping open and being seen (it's black and I usually wear blue jeans).

Personally I love maternity jeans for before and after... The extra support for bump is brilliant and it also pulls things in a bit Kore after when you're feeling wobbly.

I've heard the bobble trick is good too.

I used the hair band tricky until I fit into maternity jeans. I actually found over the bump ones fit better when you’re smaller

I used a hair bobble for my regular jeans until I gave up and bought two pairs of maternity jeans for a fiver on Vinted.

Hi!
I bought something called a mama band (I think?) on Amazon with some button extenders! It worked great until fairly late on - the extender also totally depends on what kind of jeans you have. Most of mine were high-rise, and so they needed to extend a fair way to cover the bump - a more low-rise style would certainly have more longevity.

they were comfy, and not too visible, but just a bit of a faff compared to maternity jeans I suppose.

Thank you for all replies! The hair band trick kind of works for me but I can't do the actual zip up so I have a big gap where the zip
should be done up 😂 I usually wear black skinny jeans or mom type jeans

I used a selection of elastic bands!

I am still using the elastic band trick, at over 30 weeks. I do have an expander, but my bump isnt really big enough to use it.
I have also started wearing a pregnancy band, to help with belly support, so that "hides" the fact the zippers dont really do up. And all my tops and jumpers still go over the bump and cover up the gap.

At this point I wont be buying any maternity trousers (less than 2 months to go, so it would make zero sense), so will continue using the hairband, and then the expander, if the hairband stops working!

I used the JoJo Maman Bebe "bump band": www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/style/st281550/C86991#C86991

I thought it was great. I did try using hair ties, maybe I was missing something though as that just left the jeans gaping open which I didn't really want anyone to see! With the bump band you fold it over the top of the jeans so the button and fly area is covered up and it feels nice and snug. It poked out the bottom of some of the tops I wore but it just looks like you're wearing a tight top underneath.

DSis (midwife) told me the hack of cutting a semicircle out of the front of (cheap/old) jeans that fit you everywhere else and sewing in some soft jersey material. If you use the bottom of a T-shirt you can insert a drawstring waist.
And…
No need to buy maternity tights. Just buy a larger size with a panel up the back. Turn them around and it covers your bump.

Thanks so much for this, it's just what I think I'm looking for! Does it hold up your jeans too? As mine will fall down down otherwise 😂

Hmmm, I think it must do! As the band has a button and buttonhole which attach to the jeans, and the band is quite tight (but stretchy), so I think it must keep the jeans up. I can't remember my jeans falling down anyway!! 😬

Thanks so much, will order this :)
