Complete lack of symptoms in second pregnancy, worried! Did yours differ?

I am 6 weeks pregnant today with my second pregnancy. I had an early pregnancy scan this Tuesday just gone & they could see the sac & a yolk but no baby. They had no concern as said it was what they would expect to see at that stage. Booked me in for a rescan in 2 weeks time

However, I have a distinct lack of symptoms in this one. With my first (who is 18 months) I got extreme morning sickness around 5weeks, I was having stabbing pains in my pelvis from very
early on too

With this one, nothing! I know I’m only 6 weeks but I think the fact a baby hasn’t been seen yet PLUS no symptoms is freaking me out. I was expecting the sickness to hit me like a brick again but no. The only slight symptom I can think is I’m a bit more tired (and maybe emotional haha) than normal

Did your pregnancies differ in symptoms and were any with zero symptoms successful?

Hey, me!!! I'm in the same boat as you, have you had your 2nd scan?

TigOlBitties · 13/02/2024 21:53

I had zero symptoms with my 1st and 2nd, literally not even one other than a missed period, I had sore boobs only with my 3rd. Got my first taste of morning sickness with my 4th as well as being super emotional. I’m currently pregnant with my 5th and absolute last and morning sickness has wiped the floor with me. Every pregnancy has been completely different for me. Wouldn’t wish the nausea/sickness on my worst enemy though.

I had my scan Sunday gone and found out it's an empty sac! So waiting for rescan next Thursday and then options I guess
I can't believe this is happening. I've read it's quite common

@Stephanieava I hope your 2nd scan gave you good news

@Stephanieava I hope your 2nd scan gave you good news

Hey @Pinktree87 our babies did develop but unfortunately we were told on the 12th Feb that there were no heartbeats still & the pregnancy was unviable. It turned out to be twins too which was an extra hard pill to swallow. Had an ERPC on the 13th february. Have they given you any indication for yours? Is there any hope? Sending love x

@aimeeeleanor I'm so sorry xx it's not fair, I don't think there's any good news my end, they were quite certain last week, but I need to rescan just to be 100% sure. I have D&C booked for Friday.

I had nothing at 6 weeks, really wanted the nausea for reassurance, and boy did it come in weeks 7 onwards! The rest of the first trimester was a real struggle up until about 14/15 weeks.

This unfortunately happened to me last year. 6w5d scan showed yolk sac only. From week 7 onwards started loosing my symptoms. Subsequent scans at EPU showed pretty much no development, just a tiny few mm long fetal pole at 9w. I miscarried at 10w2d in the middle of November. I was sure on my dates so I knew how things will end as soon as I had the 6w5d scan.
I am now 9 weeks pregnant and saw a healthy little baby at 7w5d
Sending you lots of love and praying for a positive outcome for you 💗
